How To Stay Fruitful In Problems
By Apostle Felix
10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
Proverbs 24: 10
The adversity shall surely come. There is no problem free life in this world. Problems come uninvited and one does not need to do anything for trouble to come. As long as you are on earth, trouble shall be part and parcel of your life. Of course, problems are not pleasant, however life has a tendency of thriving in problems. Every great man today is because he decided to confront the problem and offer a solution. This is the reason why questions in an examination paper called problems. Those are problems prepared by teachers for their students to solve. The one who answers all the questions is promoted to go into the next grade. The student has been promoted because he thrived in problems by providing answers.
33 And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”
John 16: 33
Jesus, Himself said that in this world we shall have trouble. He actually asked us to anticipate trouble. That’s interesting. We do not pray away problems, we provide solutions to them. Most of the problems in Africa cannot be prayed away. They need brains that will be able to provide solutions to the pending problems. Financial problems do not need intercessors, they need economists. Let the intercessors pray for the economists for wisdom, and not praying for financial problems to miraculously disappear.
Lessons From David’s Life
11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
12 Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the day1 Samuel 17: 11, 12
Israel had a problem in the person of Goliath. He threatens the national security of Israel. King Saul’s throne was under threat and the nation at large had uncertainties about their future. The well trained soldiers were unable to protect the nation from the Philistines. But a young man of seventeen years appeared on the scene and saved Israel from its humiliation. David took advantage of the problem at hand. He did not ran from the problem, but provided a solution.
Lessons:
1. David was a skilled slinger. He was anointed of God and he developed a fighting skilled which the Lord anointed to bring Goliath down. Problems are not solved by the anointing alone. We need skills in order to solve problems more effectively. As a student, you need to study in order to pass.
2. David understood Goliath’s weakness. Goliath had no covenant with God. He knew that God was with you. He knew that he was well able to kill Goliath because God was with him. He understood the source of his potential and ability.
3. David was a man who had a track record of achievements. He was not a novice, even though he was young. He had killed a lion and bear. In most cases, novices are given positions of power, who had no idea of how to ran an organization or nation. The African syndrome is to appoint people into positions based on blood relationship.
4. David saw benefits in the the problem. While others were seeing death, David saw benefits. What you see matters a lot. Real success is the ability to provide solutions to problems. David provided a solution to a national problem. Therefore, he had a national victory harvest.
