THE DEVIL’S FOOTHOLD
By Apostle Felix
13 We are not like Moses, who used a veil to hide the glory to keep the Israelites from staring at him as it faded away.
14 Their minds were closed and hardened, for even to this day that same veil comes over their minds when they hear the words of the former covenant. The veil has not yet been lifted from them, for it is only eliminated when one is joined to the Messiah.
15 So until now, whenever the Old Testament is being read, the same blinding comes over their hearts.
16 But the moment one turns to the Lord with an open heart, the veil is lifted and they see.
17 Now, the “Lord” I’m referring to is the Holy Spirit, and wherever he is Lord, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3: 13 – 17
How does the devil find his way into the church and the people of God;s life? It is concerning and alarming that sincere Christians, who love God are found to be victims of the devil’s assaults. These are men and women, who are sincerely following God, but most probably misinformed about God. Misinformation has misled many into the devil’s snare. The misinformation is due to misinterpretation of scripture that has led to the destruction of many lives. The imposition of personal revelations on the scripture has caused such an upheaval to the doctrine of Christ in the body of Christ. Jesus confronted the religious leaders over the same problem of imposing their own thoughts into the scripture.
13 Do you really think God will honor your traditions passed down to others, making up these rules that nullify God’s Word? And you’re doing many other things like that.”
Mark 7: 13
It was the traditions of men that had made the word of God of no effect. These traditions seemed harmless but were veiling the revelation of Christ in the word of God.
The devil’s foothold in the church are traditions of men that the church is still holding onto. These are practices that appear godly but are not of the dispensation of grace. The devil reintroduces the expired godly practices in the church in order to cripple the church. It is not so easy to identify the expired godly practices unless Christ has be unveiled in the congregation and people’s lives. The expired godly practices veils the Christ and brings the people into bondage again. On the mount of transfiguration, the voice of the Father said, ‘This is My Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear Him.’
7 Just then, a radiant cloud began to spread over them, enveloping them all. And God’s voice suddenly spoke from the cloud, saying, “This is my most dearly loved Son—always listen to him!”
8 Suddenly, when they looked around, the disciples saw only Jesus, for Moses and Elijah had faded away.
Mark 9: 7, 8
Moses and Elijah served God in their generations. These were God fearing men. But yet, God the Father did not recommend them to be the voice of the day. He faded their voices, and amplified the voice of His Son, Jesus. Moses and Elijah were good men, but their voices had been expired for this dispensation. So then, trying to operate like Moses or Elijah may give the devil a foothold. You cannot adopt the Elijah’s prophetic template and at the same time carrying the spirit of prophecy which testifies of Jesus Christ.
10 At this I fell face down at the angel’s feet to worship him, but he stopped me and said, “Don’t do this! For I am only a fellow servant with you and one of your brothers and sisters who cling to what Jesus testifies. Worship God. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Revelation 19: 10
The devil does not use the satanic Bible on Christians. He uses the Holy Bible, but yet using the scripture as the letter to veil the Christ.
6 He alone makes us adequate ministers who are focused on an entirely new covenant. Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law but through the power of the Spirit. The letter of the law kills, but the Spirit pours out life.
2 Corinthians 3: 6
The devil uses the letter to deceive people. He is subtle. He understands that man in the majority is religious. He easily falls for something that has the form of godliness but denying the power therefore, 2 Timothy 3: 5, Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. The devil uses something that has the form of godliness but is lacking the revelation of Christ. What is the power? The power is not the falling down of people or vomiting, or any of such manifestations. The power of God is the revelation of Christ.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
