Believer’s Walk of Faith

The Believer’s Walk of Faith

By Apostle Felix

6  That’s why we’re always full of courage. Even while we’re at home in the body, we’re homesick to be with the Master—
7  for we live by faith, not by what we see with our eyes.

2 Corinthians 5: 6, 7

A believer’s life is one that is fully submitted to the Word of God. Our personal nuances should be submitted to the Word of God. The Word of God is not meant to submit to how we feel or to our  belief systems. I once encountered a young lady that was pleading with me to ask God to understand her predicament in life, to do with the compromised way of life. She was a believer but yet lived a double standard life. I had to make her understand that God will not change His word to accommodate her lifestyle. I then helped her to understand that God has provided everything we need to overcome a lifestyle of sin. Simply submit to God and allow yourself to live by God’s Word.

8  We live with a joyful confidence, yet at the same time we take delight in the thought of leaving our bodies behind to be at home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5: 8

The believer’s walk of faith is one that is not only confined to the physical world, or rather the material world. A believer has dual citizenship: the heavenly and the earthly. The heavenly citizenship is eternal, while the earthly citizenship is temporal. In most cases, believers are more concerned about the earthly citizenship and invest in it so much. Of course, we need to be relevant here on earth but that should not make us to lose the sight of the heavenly citizenship.

17  We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison,
18  because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4: 17, 18

The material world makes a lot of sense because it is something that we can easily relate to and identify. This is the reason why the selling of spiritual materials in churches is easy and make a lot of sense to many. They can touch, feel and relate to the material. It is something real to them. But we cannot see the blessing. We cannot see heaven. Since we cannot see the spiritual things, we tend not believe God.

12  So, then, death is at work in us but it releases life in you.
13  We have the same Spirit of faith that is described in the Scriptures when it says, “First I believed, then I spoke in faith.” So we also first believe then speak in faith.

2 Corinthians 4: 12, 13

The believer’s faith is one that endures the test of time. Faith is not just for receiving cars, spouses, the fruit of the womb, breakthrough, promotion and many more. Faith is also for enduring hardships. Faith in God makes you to stand strong in the face of adversity. In order to stand strong, without wavering, one should focus his/her attention on the unseen eternal realm. That is walking by faith, and not by sight. You are not moved by the circumstances you are going through now, but your focus is on the eternal reward.
