Overcoming Faith

6  When you’re placed into the Anointed One and joined to him, circumcision and religious obligations can benefit you nothing. All that matters now is living in the faith that is activated and brought to perfection by love. 

Galatians 5: 6

Winning over issues of life is predicated on faith that works by love. Faith through love is a factor to an overcoming life. It is not possible to have an upper hand over the world without faith through the love of God. My emphasis is the faith through love. The purity and sincerity of faith is one that is activated by love. The motivation is just as important as the great faith. The question would be, why do I want faith in my life? So many times, faith is coveted for acquiring things for personal prestige. Faith is used for personal grandiose. But faith should be for overcoming the same thing we are trying to use it for. Real faith is for overcoming the world.

3  True love for God means obeying his commands, and his commands don’t weigh us down as heavy burdens.
4  You see, every child of God overcomes the world, for our faith is the victorious power that triumphs over the world.

1 John 5: 3, 4

Faith that overcomes the world is the one that believes that Christ is the Son of God. Peter, in Matthew chapter sixteen verse eighteen said by the Spirit of the Lord that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. That revelation is the foundation of our faith. Faith that overcomes the world is the one that lives by the word of God. Faith is demonstrated by the practicing of the word of God. Hearing the word of God only is not enough, we need to be word practitioners in order to overcome the systems and patterns of this world. Faith that overcomes the world is one that loves the brethren. Faith works by love. The motivation for faith should be love. Anything else may be produce a corrupted faith. Everything the Lord allows us to do for Him, should be motivated by the love of God. Love is the key.

1  Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah is God’s spiritual child and has been fathered by God himself. And everyone who loves Father God loves his children as well.
2  This is how we can be sure that we love the children of God: by having a passionate love for God and by obedience to his commands.
