The Breath of God in You
By Apostle Felix
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
Genesis 2: 7, 8
God breathed into man He had formed the breath of life, and man became a living soul. The word used for soul in Genesis 2: 7 is a Hebrew word, ‘nephesh’, which can be translated as breath of life. The Greek word for soul is ‘psuche.’ It has the same meaning in both Hebrew and Greek. The soul is the immaterial, invisible part of man. We cannot see the soul but we can interact with the soul through words. The soul gives expression to the physical environment. God formed a body from the dust of the ground and it was lifeless. It had no expression and could not exercise dominion over the creation God had created. So, God breathed into the lifeless body the expressions and inspirations of God and the body stood and was able to relate with the physical world and dominate. Man’s ability to name the animals was as the result of God’s breath in man. The breath God breathed into man was not oxygen, but it was a divine code of God that makes man to be who God intended man to be.
4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
Job 33: 4
What do I mean when I say that the breath of God is not oxygen? God is not dependent on oxygen. He does not use oxygen or gases for living. He is Spirit. Initially, God created Adam, a man that possessed everything God had wanted for mankind for rulership. This one man contained all races, tribes, languages, inventions, discoveries, innovations, creativity, and had Eve in him. He was such a glorious being loaded with everything that man will ever need for living. Therefore, the breath of God was not just oxygen but all that man needed to be. The content of the breath of God can be found in Genesis 1: 28.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1: 28
The breath of God are words. God does not exhale and inhale. He is not a physical being that needs air for Him to live. God is the word and the word is His breath. So, God releases His breath when He speaks. The body was made alive when the spirit man whose composition is the word entered the body. And this is the reason why the spirit man can be in a state of death when it is deprived of the word of God. Spiritual death is actually the absence of the word of God in one’s life.
1 In the very beginning the Living Expression was already there. And the Living Expression was with God, yet fully God.
2 They were together—face-to-face, in the very beginning.
John 1: 1, 2 TPT
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1: 1, 2 KJV
The word of God is the expression of God. We cannot see God but we can see the effects of His word in our lives. Jesus is the word of God and was made manifest in the flesh for the purpose of restoring the spiritual expression of man. Only the word of God has the power to restore man and enable him to reign in life. It was the word the made man to have dominion over all creation, and it can only be the word of God that can make him to reign again. So, Jesus’ mission was the restoration of God’s expression in man through the word. When you allow Jesus, who is the word to come into your life, you have just allowed God to find expression through your life.
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hebrews 1: 3
The same Jesus now lives in you. He is domiciled in your life so that He can fully express the image of God through your life. Just be aware of His presence. You are a winner!
