Spiritual Stability
By Apostle Felix
17 Jesus replied, “You are favored and privileged Simeon, son of Jonah! For you didn’t discover this on your own, but my Father in heaven has supernaturally revealed it to you.
18 I give you the name Peter, a stone. And this truth of who I am will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church—my legislative assembly, and the power of death will not be able to overpower it!Matthew 16: 17, 18
The stability of a building is determined by the foundation it is founded upon. The depth and strength of the foundation is the determinant factor in the stability of the skyscraper building. The higher the building, the deeper and stronger the foundation should be. In some cases, construction had been halted due to faulty foundation. This is mainly due to avoid hazardous instances whereby a building collapses and causes fatal injuries to humans. This analogy can be true to spiritual matters as well.
11 For no one is empowered to lay an alternative foundation other than the good foundation that exists, which is Jesus Christ!
1 Corinthians 3: 11
The foundation for our spiritual lives is Christ. The irony of this matter is that Christ is the foundation and He is also the word material that has to be used to build our lives with. The problem we face oftentimes is to have Christ as our foundation and then use different word material to build our lives with. The opposite is the case, where the foundation is totally wrong and yet using borrowed word to deceive many. The word may sound theologically sound but the foundation may be wrong. When Jesus was on earth, Israel had the foundation for its spiritual persuasions it had laid. The people had their own liturgy, which was their way of worship. The temple worship was very sacred to the Jewish community.
19 Jesus answered, “After you’ve destroyed this temple, I will raise it up again in three days.”
John 2: 19
The statement Jesus made referring to the destruction of the temple, really infuriated the Jews. They misunderstood Jesus’ statement, and they thought He was referring to the temple of Solomon. But Jesus was referring to His body, which was mutilated and was killed, but rose from the dead on the third day. Jesus came to do away with the first to establish the second.
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Hebrews 10: 9
Christ came to establish a foundation of Himself on which the church should be founded. So many believers are building the spiritual lives with the expired material. They are using the first which Christ came to take away. It does not matter how it feels, sounds and how charismatic it has been presented. Is it expired or inspired? Is it the abolished system or new covenant system? The most dangerous ministry in the church is not necessarily the false prophet, but the false teacher. A false teacher is not the one using witchcraft to mesmerize the people but the one who is a minister of the letter. He is not ministering life to the people but death.
6 He alone makes us adequate ministers who are focused on an entirely new covenant. Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law but through the power of the Spirit. The letter of the law kills, but the Spirit pours out life.
2 Corinthians 3: 6
The enemy specializes in using the expired material to deceive the believers. This is because the expired sounds like Christ but is not of Christ. The antichrist spirit is a masquerade demonic entity, camouflaged like Christ in the expired system. The devil quotes scriptures from the Bible in order to deceive. But normally the Bible verse quoted will be the letter that kills. Unfortunately, we have so many churches that do preach the letter and it sounds powerful but yet it is not the material for the new Testament believer. Christ is the meal for the New Testament believers.
