Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Romans 8: 14
By Apostle Felix
The sons of God are designed to live in the supernatural. The sad reality of our time is to see sons of God living like gentiles, who seek after things and running after miracles. Sons do not ran after things and miracles because things and miracles simply follow them. Jesus addressed this issue of the sons of the kingdom to seek only the Kingdom of God and the righteousness of God.
“So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.
Matthew 6: 33
Sons of God are dependent on God. He is their source and sustainer of their well-being. They are not moving by what is going on around but are moved by the Word of God. The Word of God is what drives them, not needs. Our society is need driven; no wonder gullibility has been the order of the day. Sons of God are not gullible, but they judge all things. Worry and anxiety are fear-based emotions.
The Spirit of adoption we have received in Christ, bears witness with our spirits that our sufficiency is of Christ. That witness wards off all worry and anxiety. By His Spirit we cry Abba Father, meaning God is our source of being, the supplier of all our needs and sustainer of everything concerning us.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Romans 8: 15
Cowardice is due to identity crisis. David was able to face and kill Goliath because he knew whose and who he was. The frantic searching for miracles and breakthroughs from city to city, village to village, country to country is due to identity crisis. Sons of God are at rest in their father’s house. No king’s kid runs around in every place looking for crumbs when he has the estate to himself. You are a king’s kid meant to find rest in your father’s house.
Jesus made an open invitation in Matthew 22: 28, saying ‘Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy laden, I will give you rest.’ This invitation is still valid today. The invitation is to come to Him and find rest from the burden of servitude. The burden of trying to win God’s approval through religious practices.
The elder brother lived in his father’s house like a servant. We find that story in Luke chapter 15. The prodigal son left his father’s house and wasted his inheritance. Sons do not leave their father’s house because of the blessing of God. Stay in the Lord. But after a while, the prodigal son came to his senses and returned home to be made as one of his father’s servants.
Upon return, the father did not see a servant, but a son. Though he was smelling like a pig, his father put a robe on him that changed his odor, from the pigsty to his father’s smell. That father could no longer smell the pigsty, but himself.
