Sent By God
By Apostle Felix
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?Romans 10: 13 – 16
God has sent His church to preach His message to the world. The sender has given the message to the sent to deliver to those sent to. This message is specific and precise. It is not a vague message. It is the sender who determines the content of the message, and not the sent. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the sent to understand and investigate the content of the message lest he delivers his own message to God’s people.
22 Then Samuel said, “Is the LORD as delighted with burnt offerings and sacrifices as he would be with your obedience? To follow instructions is better than to sacrifice. To obey is better than sacrificing the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15: 22
Saul, the king over Israel was sent to go and destroy the Amalekites completely. The message was loud and clear, to destroy completely. Did Saul go? Yes, he did. But did he deliver according to the message given. No, he did not. He compromised the script that was given to him to please his audience and also for personal gain. The Amalekites symbolized the enemy of mankind, whom Christ came and to destroy through His death and resurrection. The sin of Saul was symbolically making the redemptive work of Christ of no effect. Christ’s redemptive work was complete and destroyed the works of the devil completely.
14 He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.
15 Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his!Colossians 2: 14, 15
The message we have been given to preach is the message of the redemptive work of Christ, which is victory over satan and his kingdom. We are not allowed to bring our nuances to the Lord’s table based on our personal experiences. The message of Christ stands on its own authority. king Saul added his own nuances to the message he had received from Samuel, the prophet of God. He preserved Agag and the best of animals when God had said to destroy all.
Child of God, we are not called to preach that which Jesus Christ destroyed and defeated on the cross. We are to preach which Christ has delivered to us, which is the complete salvation in Him. It’s very heart breaking to hear people been fed on the message Saul concocted – the unfinished business. In Christ the message is the finished business. This deliverance service business for believers is actually suggesting to believers that there is unfinished work in Christ. Let us deliver to the people the finished work message to the people. It is the truth that sets people free. We are called to preach deliverance, not to conduct it.
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4: 18
The preaching of the gospel is the preaching of deliverance. Deliverance is a movement from one location to another, initiated by a message of emancipation. Moses was sent with a message to Pharaoh to let God’s people leave Egypt. He did not send Moses to cast the Egyptians out of the land, but to take Israel out of the land. It was the message that was given to Moses that made Israel to leave Egypt. They were delivered out to be delivered into the promised land. Israel left Egypt and when the Egyptian army tried to take them back to Egypt all perished in the Red sea. They never crossed over. The message was still sustaining them for freedom. It was a complete freedom. Israel’s problem was not Egypt, but their mindset.
28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
Numbers 14: 28
Israel had a heart problem, not Pharaoh problem. You as a believer, you do not have a demon problem, but a mind problem. We often speak from the abundance of our hearts. So, if the heart is pervert, perversion shall flood one’s mouth. It was not Pharaoh who made Israel to wander in the wilderness for forty years. No, it was their mindset. It is not your uncle, aunt in the village stopping you from advancing. It is not that witch stopping you from succeeding. How can you, a child of God be entertaining such a thought, anyway.
12 Your hearts can soar with joyful gratitude when you think of how God made you worthy to receive the glorious inheritance freely given to us by living in the light.
13 He has rescued us completely from the tyrannical rule of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom realm of his beloved Son.
14 For in the Son all our sins are canceled and we have the release of redemption through his very blood.Colossians 1: 12 – 14
