By Apostle Felix
Peter remembered and said to him, “Teacher, look! That’s the fig tree you cursed. It’s now all shriveled up and dead.” Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you! Mark 11: 21, 22
The faith of God is the kind of faith that produces results from the place of rest. Works do not produce faith, but faith produces works. The faith of God is not trying to make something to happen. The faith of God is resting in the finished work of Christ.
As we enter into God’s faith-rest life we cease from our own works, just as God celebrates his finished works and rests in them. Hebrews 4: 10
But keeping the law does not require faith, but self-effort. For the law teaches, “If you practice the principles of law, you must follow all of them.” Galatians 3: 12
The faith of God is not for creating anything, but is for believing and receiving what Christ has already done. Faith is not for working out faith, but is for believing God for all He has done for us.
This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—believe that you have received it and it will be yours. Mark 11: 24
Listen to what the Scriptures say: Because Abraham believed God’s words, his faith transferred God’s righteousness into his account. Romans 4: 3
What did Abraham do? Abraham simply believed what God had promised him. God made a promise of the blessing through righteousness. The promise God had made to Abraham had to be fulfilled in rest. God did not allow Abraham to participate in the process of the covenant, but to simply be a partaker. A deep sleep fell upon Abraham and God did the work. God did not demand anything from Abraham because the covenant was a type of grace . It was the covenant of rest for man. So was the order of creation – it was a covenant of rest. Faith works in rest, which is the finished work of Christ. God took the church out of Jesus in the state of rest.
And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. Genesis 15: 6, 12
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; Genesis 2: 21
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. John 19: 33 – 36
