By Apostle Felix
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91: 1
As a child of God, born of God, you do not abide under the shadow of the Almighty, but you are in God. In Him you live, move and have your being.
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Acts 17: 28
David lived in the shadow of the Almighty and saw Christ in the shadows. The shadow is not the substance, or the reality. A shadow is used in reference to proximity to the substance. Though David was close to God, he was never in God. He was under the shadow.
Moses, the progenitor of the shadow, redirected the people to the substance yet to come. He said a prophet, greater than he was to be raised up from Israel, and him they should listen.
The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; Deuteronomy 18: 15
The faith of Moses was under the shadows. Moses introduced the use of types to communicate the message of Christ. The Israelite community was spiritually dead, and needed the elements and rituals to communicate heavenly things. Moses’ message of Christ was hidden in the religious rituals. The rituals were not the end to themselves. They carried a message that was pointing toChrist, the Son of the Living God. If you build your faith around the religious rituals then it will be a dead faith. And this is because the rituals were a shadow of the substance, who is Christ.
For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. Hebrews 10: 1
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Colossians 2: 17
The New Testament faith is not aspirational, but is a fulfillment of the Old Testament. Our faith is in past tenses. It has been done already. It is not yet to be done. Christ has already accomplished the work. Our faith is in the finished work of Christ. Christianity is distinguished on that premise – Christ. Christ is the divider. We do not use faith to determine one’s spirituality. It’s the faith in Christ that determines one’s spirituality. It’s not accomplishments that validates our faith in Christ.
If that was the case, then men and women with great accomplishments to their names, would have been considered to be the most spiritual persons. But great accomplishments can be achieved with the faith in self. Most of the people that have acquired wealth and riches, and accomplished great featswas as a result of the faith in themselves. It was not the faith in God. The faith in God produces a changed life, a delivered life from sin, and a translated life into the kingdom of Christ.
