Overcoming Barrenness By The Word

Overcoming Barrenness By The Word

By Apostle Felix

7  Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8  For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Jeremiah 17: 7, 8

God’s plan for man is plain and explicit. He has not hidden His plan from man, but has made it as plain as possible. God has always wanted man to be fruitful in life. He created him to be fruitful. A fruitful life does not surprise God, but a life that is unfruitful displeases Him. The reason for that is because, fruitfulness glorifies God. God wants you to be fruitful. It is not something that one has to talk God into doing. No, It is God’s idea and He is committed to seeing that His children are bearing much fruit.

7  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

John 15: 7, 8

Fruitfulness is a sign of life. Only the living can be fruitful. God  made a human body from the earth and it was lifeless until He breathed into the body through the nostrils. What then did God breathe into the body? Was it oxygen? Not necessarily. In Genesis chapter two verse seven, God breathed into man the breath of life. The word used for breath is naphach in Hebrew, which means to inflate, blow hard, or disesteem, expire, breath, give up. God breathed into a human body by speaking. God’s breath is His word. The lifeless body came to life after the Lord had spoken into it. We see God blessing man by a spoken word in Genesis chapter one verse twenty eight.

7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 2: 7

28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1: 28

God’s plan for man to be fruitful is nonnegotiable. He has programmed fruitfulness in man. This is the reason why, barrenness is foreign in the kingdom of God. It is not an alternative life to a life of fruitfulness. Barrenness is illegal. The kingdom of God repudiates barrenness. Everywhere Jesus went while He was on earth, He repudiated barrenness by the spoken word. At the wedding ceremony at Cana, He turned water into wine because wine had ran out. After preaching to the masses of people, Jesus decided to feed the people who had gone for three days without food. They had no food except a boy, who had five loaves of bread and two fishes. Of course, that was not enough for the multitude. Jesus had to end the lack by the spoken word. Numerous incidences in the Bible where Jesus overcame scarcity.
