Luke 11: 1  And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 
Luke 11: 2  And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Prayer is a God given privilege to man. It’s a blessed gift from to man, that man would find an audience with the Almighty God.

A prayer to be answered has to be prayed according to divine guidelines.

Matthew 7:8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 

What Is Prayer?

Prayer is communion with God. It’s a time of conversing with the Lord. It’s when a mortal man invokes an immortal God intervene in earthly affairs.

What are the keys to prayer?

1. Praise

Luke 11: 2

Prayer must be preceded by praise.

Psalm 100:4  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Praise eliminates all doubts and fears one may have. It provokes faith, and helps a believer to offer prayers in faith.

2. Be Specific

Mark 10: 46 – 47

Avoid generalities and be specific in prayer. Is it the money you want, and how much. Ask, and it shall be given.

3. Ask According to His Will

James 4: 3

Prayer can only be answered when it is prayed according to His Will. Discover God’s will from the Word of God. And listen to the voice of His Spirit.
