Jesus: The Word

Jesus: The Word

By Apostle Felix

1  In the very beginning the Living Expression was already there. And the Living Expression was with God, yet fully God.

2  They were together—face-to-face, in the very beginning.

3  And through his creative inspiration this Living Expression made all things, for nothing has existence apart from him!

John 1: 1 – 3

Jesus is the logos of God. He is the WORD. The Greek word translated as the word is logos. Logos means an expressed thought, or reasoning. Logos is an embodiment of the revelation of Christ. Without Logos, there can never be rhema. The rhema is founded on the logos. Jesus is called the logos, because He came into this world as man. The word incarnated and wrapped Himself in a human body.

3  The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest throne at the right hand of the majestic One.

Hebrew 1: 3

The word is the exact expression of God’s true nature. Jesus, the word humbled Himself by allowing the immortal  to come and live in the mortal body. The culmination of the immortal and the mortal is what is called, ‘The Son of God.’ The Son of God is the incarnation of God as man. He became the Son of God so that many can be given power to be called sons of God. He became the first born over all creation so that you and me can be made an heir with Him.

15  He is the divine portrait, the true likeness of the invisible God, and the first-born heir of all creation.

Colossians 1: 15

Jesus’ first place over creation does not suggest that He is a created being. He is God that decided to become man for our sake. He is our first born in the sense that He died and rose from the dead, and He lives forever. He was the first man that never sinned while here on earth. He conquered sin and death in His body. He lived a perfect and righteous life through out His life

18  He is the Head of his body, which is the church. And since he is the beginning and the firstborn heir in resurrection, he is the most exalted One, holding first place in everything.

Colossians 1: 18

The first born, according to the law is the heir. He was born under the law, and the law was used to condemn Him. He died like a condemned criminal, even though He was innocent. A righteous man condemned by unrighteous men. This was to fulfill  prophecy, as the lamb of God. He was the perfect lamb of God, and the first born of all creation. The first born, who is the heir, having the right to the inheritance had to be condemned so that humanity can be pardoned and be made as an heir together with Christ Jesus. His rejection, became our acceptance. His condemnation, became our justification. His shame and humiliation, became our exaltation.

30  And what does the Scripture tell us to do? “Expel the slave mother with her son! The son of the slave woman will not be a true heir—for the true heir of the promises is the son of the freewoman.”

Galatians 4: 30

Hagar is regarded as the law, and Sara as grace. So, we see both the law and grace in one house, Abraham’s household. Ishmael was a product of works, while Isaac was a product of grace. Ismael came first before Isaac. But later, Ismael was expelled to accommodate Isaac. Jesus, the Word chose to suffer humiliation and rejection for the sake of the salvation of many. Even though Isaac was the not the first born of Abraham, but inherited the blessing, because of grace. You are a product of grace and you have inherited the blessing on your life because of Jesus in you.
