Built To Last

24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

One day, Jesus was on the mountain with three of His disciples. There on the mountain, Jesus was transfigured and Moses and Elijah appeared along side Him. The three disciples were in awe as they beheld Jesus with Moses and Elijah. And Peter spoke suggested for erecting three tents for Jesus, Moses and Elijah. But then a voice spoke out from a cloud that had covered them, saying:

35  …This is my beloved Son: hear him. 

Luke 9: 35

The quality of life is determined by the voice one decides to listen to. You cannot keep on listening to junk and expect your life to be sound and healthy. Words are the material used for building one’s life. Jesus said in Matthew chapter seven that whosoever hears His word, and does them is likened to a man who built his house on the rock. This man’s house withstood the storm because it has been built on the rock. It was built to last.

As we conclude the year 2025, purpose in your heart to build your life on the word of God. And not just any word but the revelation of God. Build your spiritual life on the living Word. Allow Christ to be the chief cornerstone of your life and being. It so happens that some divorce Jesus in December and only to renew their vows again in January. But that should not be the case. It is setting your life up to be built on the sand. Create stability by consistency.

In your marriage, finances, family, and everything concerning you, let Christ be the foundation. Fun cannot only be found outside Christ. You can have fun in Christ. God is not against enjoying yourself and having fun. He is only against indulging in thins that may destroy your life and also affect your relationship with God. You can have fun while observing God’s word in your life. Keep on hearing and doing His word this December. Your life depends on it to last.
