Acts That Lead To A Fruitful Life – 2
By Apostle Felix
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Matthew 5: 2
We do not arrive at a fruitful life by accident. It is a deliberate and conscious acts done that lead to a fruitful. A farmer does not wake up one day to a surprise harvest. Every harvest is planned and worked towards to. We cannot expect a fruitful life of righteousness when we are consciously living unrighteous. Life is about sowing and reaping.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.Galatians 6: 7 – 9
If we sow to the flesh, expect an harvest of corruption. But if we sow to the spirit, we shall have an harvest of everlasting life. Mind you, sowing is a law of nature. It is something we do by nature. We cannot avoid it, and be careless about it. It is either you are sowing acts to your disadvantage or seeds to your advantage. There are certain acts you do in life that you do not even to think about it anymore it. This is because the act has turned into a character. It has now become you and doing that act has become the definition of your character. Unfortunately, the majority of us were brought up in homes which had no godly values. Our characters were formed and shaped by the environments we were brought up in. For example, if you grew up in a family that is has normalized violence as a way of life, you will definitely grow up thinking to be violent is normal.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.Romans 12: 1, 2
Attitudes that lead to a fruitful life
We are continuing from where we ended yesterday. We are still looking at Jesus’ sermon, the beatitudes.
6. Devotion
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Matthew 5: 8
Our single-minded devotion of seeking the Lord and yielding to His ways produces purity in our lives. This attitude calls for commitment to His word, to fellowship with one other and to living above reproach. The same is true to a plant planted in the earth. It’s growth and later bear fruit depends on it’s remaining in the earth. It can’t keep on uprooting itself time and time again, and expect it to be fruitful.
7. Peace-making
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5: 9
We are not to be peace-keepers, but to be peace-makers. Let us leave peace-keeping to the United Nations. We are peace-makers. Peace-makers bring peace in the environment. They are envoys of peace. U.N. can only maintain the peace that has already be there, but we introduce peace where has been confusion and anarchy. Our role, therefore, is more powerful than that of the U.N.
8. Endurance
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5: 10
Persecution is part of our christian faith. We are persecuted for the righteous cause. You will be accused falsely, hated and lied about just because you are a child of God. Do not be surprised when you being to encounter such. What will keep you is your faith in Christ and the realization that you are a citizen of the kingdom of God, not of this world. Endurance is a virtue that focuses on the reward of been in the Lord than on the persecution itself.
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
