The Real Money 2

The Real Money 2

By Apostle Felix

9  But those who crave the wealth of this world slip into spiritual snares. They become trapped by the troubles that come through their foolish and harmful desires, driven by greed and drowning in their own sinful pleasures. And they take others down with them into their corruption and eventual destruction.
10  Loving money is the first step toward all kinds of trouble. Some people run after it so much that they have given up their faith. Craving more money pushes them away from the faith into error, compounding misery in their lives!

1 Timothy 6: 9, 10

First and foremost, I would like to establish that money is not evil. Money is a neutral commodity that takes up the identity and character of the one in possession of it. Money in the hands of the righteous hands would be used for righteous cause, but in the hands of evil will be used for evil purposes. Money has no character of its own. This is the reason why money comes only to amplify the contents of one’s heart. Therefore, money has no power to terminate poverty. There are people with money, yet very poor. You will know a poor man by their fruit. The fruit of poverty in the space of riches is pride and the fear to lose the riches. Their discussion is all around money. Talking about money does not mean one is rich.

The rich rarely talk about or rather boast about their riches. Its only the poor with little money, who boast about riches. The rich status is beyond a fat account, but more to do with the a fat head with knowledge. You have not noticed, the rich do not post riches on social platforms, but they post thoughts. Its the poor who fond of posting the little riches they have on social media. The rich man’s conversation is not money, but ideas. Poor people discuss money, while rich people discuss ideas and visions. The difference is distinct. The values, focus and conversations are like day and night.

I have been listening to Elon Musk’s documentary, and the commentator made a remarkable comment about Musk’s life that caught my attention. The commentator said that Musk does not do what he does for money, neither is he afraid to lose his money. His passion is to see the fulfilled of his dreams and vision. He continued to say that he does not necessarily care about the money, but his passion is to contribute positively to humanity. The love of money can be a huge hindrance to development of societies.

21  Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22  But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Matthew 19: 21, 22

The rich young man looked like one who had money, but in reality money had him. Though he was rich, the poverty mindset was stronger than his riches. He was afraid to lose his money because money was the object of satisfaction. I am not here suggest that one should be wasteful of his resources. No, but let not money be the focus of your life. the attitude of rich people is different from that of a poor man. What they respect is totally different from what a poor man respects. For example, a poor man respects money over time, while a rich man respects time over money. He would rather spend money to preserve time as opposed to a poor man who would rather spend time to preserve money.
