Holy Spirit: The Teacher
By Apostle Felix
26 But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me who sets you free, he will teach you all things in my name. And he will inspire you to remember every word that I’ve told you.
John 14: 26
Jesus, the Son of God received the fullness of the Holy Spirit at Jordan river when John, the baptist baptized Him in water. And then the voice from heaven said, ‘This is My Son, in whom I am well pleased.’ The voice was the Father’s voice. Jesus was the first man in the flesh to be called the Son of God, besides Adam. Jesus was called the Son of God because the Word became flesh and lived among men. The culmination of the divinity and humanity is what is called the Son of God. Jesus, who is God decided to come and live in the human body. The name Immanuel, means God with us. But I like to interpret it as, God in the human body. Therefore, the Son of God qualified to receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the promise for the children of God.
28 Dear friends, just like Isaac, we’re now the true children who inherit the kingdom promises.
Galatians 4: 28
Jesus received the Holy Spirit as the Son of God, and not as a servant. The promise of the Holy Spirit is not for servants. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to the disciples before and after His death and resurrection. He admonished them to tarry in Jerusalem until they received the Holy Spirit. Before His death, He talked about the Holy Spirit as another comforter, who will come and lead the church into all truth. Jesus called the Holy Spirit as ‘another comforter’ meaning He is of the essence as Jesus. The Holy Spirit would come and testify of Jesus to us. The language of the Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ.
26 “And I will send you the Divine Encourager from the very presence of my Father. He will come to you, the Spirit of Truth, emanating from the Father, and he will speak to you about me.
John 15: 26
The Holy Spirit is obsessed with Jesus. I used the word ‘obsessed’ for lack of terms to use. He is committed to glorifying the Son of God through our lives. The Spirit is subject to the word of God. He can never say anything that Jesus never said. He reveals Christ to us , and when Christ is revealed then we see who we truly are. The Holy Spirit cannot reveal man with the first revealing the Christ. Jesus, Himself said that we shall receive power, when the power shall come upon us and we shall be witnesses, in Acts 1: 8. A witness is someone who has seen an event, or someone who has an evidence or proof. This is the work of the Holy Spirit to make Jesus a reality in our lives by the word of God. Jesus can be known through the interpretation of God with the help of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not giving new revelations of Jesus, which are not in the Bible. He helps us to interpret the revelation of Christ from the Bible, and only within the confines of the Bible. That was why Jesus said that He w ill send another comforter another, who will come and speak to us about Jesus. He leads us into all truth. Who is the truth? Jesus is. There is no greater revelation than that.
