There Is No Condemnation
By Apostle Felix
1 So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.
2 For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death.Romans 8: 1, 2
Religion thrives on making its adherents fearful. The strength of fear is condemnation. Those who are under condemnation will certainly lack confidence in their lives and will be overwhelmed with fear. The unrighteous are normally driven by fear.
1 Guilty criminals experience paranoia even though no one threatens them. But the innocent lovers of God, because of righteousness, will have the boldness of a young, ferocious lion!
Proverbs 28: 1
The righteous are as bold as a ferocious lion. The devil understands this phenomenal very well. He invests a lot into talking believers into condemnation.Unfortunately, we find fear based messages in church that perpetuate condemnation in people’s lives. In the name of preaching the fear of God, preachers find themselves partnering with the devil in heaping condemnation on God’s children. This is the reason why some preachers are against the message of grace. They look at grace as a message that allows believers to sin willfully. I believe you have at one point or still saying the same thing.
1 So what do we do, then? Do we persist in sin so that God’s kindness and grace will increase?
2 What a terrible thought! We have died to sin once and for all, as a dead man passes away from this life. So how could we live under sin’s rule a moment longer?Romans 6: 1, 2
Apostle Paul was accused of giving a license to sin to believers by preaching the grace of God. The Judaizer believers were very skeptical of apostle Paul and the message of grace he preached because he eliminated the legalistic element of the law. They, therefore, misunderstood his message as one that allows believers to sin. They saw salvation by grace only, and not by following the law as a message that would allow believers to undermine the moral standards of God. Apostle Paul countered that notion by asking rhetorically, “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not!” He also emphasized that grace brings freedom from the bondage of sin to those that accept to rest in God’s finished work. The grace of God justifies, while the law condemns. Therefore, the two cannot be mixed.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 6: 14
The law is good but has no power to set anyone free from the power of sin. But grace has the power to make a sinner into the righteousness of God. Jesus put it in this way:
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
John 5: 45
Here Jesus was referring to the law, that it is the law that accuses, not Jesus. Remember, the woman who was caught in the very act of adultery. The Pharisees, who represented the law of Moses in Jesus’ time, brought the woman to Jesus to be condemned. But little did they know that Jesus was grace, who did not come into this world to condemn but to save. He pardoned the woman and gave her the grace not to sin.
The strength of sin is the law, and the law condemns. Where there is no law, cannot be a any tool to use for condemnation.
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.1 Corinthians 15: 56, 57
You cannot live a victorious life while under condemnation. Christians who are trying to live by the law are positioning themselves to live defeated lives. This is one thing every preacher should know that church members will only live victorious lives when they are fed on grace and not a mixed meal.
