My Grace Journey…2

My Grace Journey…2

By Apostle Felix

The Word of God…

3  And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luke 4: 3, 4

I was introduced to prayer life by my cousin and nephew. They used to pray hours upon hours. So, my initiation into prayer life had to do with long hours of prayer. I thought it was mandatory for every christian to pray for long hours before God could hear and use you. I was so committed to prayer that my minimal prayer time per day was ten hours. I was committed to prayer but not to the studying of the word of God. Despite spending all those hours in prayer, I never used to study and read the Bible. All I would do was pray. God allowed it for almost two years, but in 1996 He confronted me about the need of the Word of God in my life. And this is what He said about my life of just praying without studying the word of God.  He said, prayer without the word of God may lead to deception. This is because, prayer is a communication between man and deity. Now, for any communication to be effective, both parties should know and understand each others language. The language of God is His word. Therefore, the ignorance of God’s word in prayer may lead to a lot of misunderstanding and assumptions.

Most of the known cults of our day, started because someone claimed to have received revelations from God. Those were assumptions because the claims are not biblically supported. Prayer is good and spiritual but one void of the word of God may turn out to be harmful to one’s life. Upon receiving this instruction from the Lord, I delved into the word of God. I read the Bible from Genesis to Revelations several times. I spent over nights, not praying but reading my Bible. I had to strike a balance between prayer and the studying of God’s word.

You Are Righteous

21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2 Corinthians 5: 21

In 1998, I enrolled in Bible college to be trained and prepared for the work of ministry. One day I overheard two students arguing in Swahili. I do not understand or speak Swahili, but the Lord asked me to go to them and tell them that the ladies they are arguing about are the righteousness of God. God has accepted them despite them wearing trousers. Little did know that the contention was over ladies who were wearing trousers in Bible school. One of the brothers was so convinced that they were sinners because of their dress code. My intervention ended the argument between the two, and it turned against me. The brother told others about it and they labelled me an heretic. I went to the Lord to get answers and ask for further explanation on the subject of righteousness. God used one of lecturers, who deviated from the topic and talked about the believer’s righteousness in Christ. I began to research on the subject and that was the message I graduated with. The message of our righteousness in Christ. That’s the message I went with into Botswana as a missionary. It is the message that touched so many people in Botswana. It was the message that brought so much healing, both emotional and physical. So many young ladies, upon hearing the message left their boyfriends and committed their lives to God. The princes marina hospital was calling for me every time there was case beyond any medical help. It was this message of righteousness that was preached and so those who were abandoned revived and totally healed. With this message, I saw almost an entire school accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour. You are the righteousness of God. He became sin so that you can become the righteousness of God. He did not come to condemn but to justify.
