Experience The Revealed Christ
By Apostle Felix
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.John 8: 31, 32
It is not possible to benefit from something you do not know. You can be in the presence of greatness and miss the opportunity of benefiting from the proximity because you did not know who the person was. The two men on the Emmaus road almost missed their moment with Christ because they did not know who was walking with them. They were in the presence of the Almighty but yet their experience was natural because they had no knowledge of the person.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
Luke 24: 32
The scriptures were quoted to them by God Himself, but still their experience with God was limited by their knowledge of God. But when Christ was revealed to them, their experience changed and they turned around and went back to Jerusalem. The revelation of Christ necessitated an encounter. The knowledge of Christ brought about such a freedom in their lives to proclaim Christ as the risen Lord.
Your experience and encounter with God is premised on the revelation of Christ. Apostle Paul and Silas in prison at Philippi, did not panic because they knew their God. Instead of pitying themselves, they began to sing praises unto the Lord. Singing should be as a result of what you have encountered. Many songs have been composed after an experience. Those in captivity will sing songs about captivity. So then, it was going to be acceptable for Paul and Silas to sing about their prison experience but instead they sang about the One they had experienced before the prison. Their experience with Christ had the power to absorb their prison experience. They knew Christ enough to sing songs of praise to Him even while in prison. As they sang, the Christ they sung about manifested Himself in the prison cell. The prison gates opened all by themselves.
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.Acts 16: 25, 26
Apostle Paul is regarded as a preacher that preached and taught the gospel of grace. The gospel of grace is the message of resting in the finished work of Christ. It is the message of the revealed Christ. He came and explained the Christ that was veiled in the letters of Moses and the prophets. His messages revolutionized the church, from the law abiding church to the grace bound church.
9 And what is God’s “living message”? It is the revelation of faith for salvation, which is the message that we preach. For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will experience salvation.
Romans 10: 9
The message Paul preached was the revelation of Christ, which is able to save. In this season of grace, your experiences will be the product of grace. This is because your source is responsible for your sustenance. The gates have been opened for you already. May your eyes open to see that the doors are open. In this season, miracles will be rolling in your direction. Instead of you chasing after them, they will be chasing after you. What you have praying for years, because of the grace of God, your prayers have already been answered. May you wake up to a new dawn. A moment of endless experiences with the Lord, May the Lord surprise you. Count yourself in.
