Christ In You

Christ In You

By Apostle Felix

27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Colossians 1: 27, 28

God has been desiring to dwell in man from the beginning. God dwelling in man was not an afterthought, but it was an initial idea. The fall of man was a great disruption in God’s plan of dominion in the earth. The plan of dominion solely depended on man been the dwelling place. Man was designed to operate under the presence of the Christ for dominion. The rejection of Christ, the anointed One and His anointing, brought so much distress in humanity. Man rejected the Christ and settled for the antichrist. An antichrist is a philosophy or nature of knowledge that opposes the knowledge of Christ. In the fallen state, man could not house Christ and God had to use types and shadows to communicate His initial plan for man.

1  The old system of living under the law presented us with only a faint shadow, a crude outline of the reality of the wonderful blessings to come. Even with its steady stream of sacrifices offered year after year, there still was nothing that could make our hearts perfect before God.

Hebrews 10: 1

God chose a people, whom He called His son. The nation was Israel. It was chosen for the purpose of displaying God’s original purpose through types and shadows, but the reality is the Christ who was born much later. Abraham was chosen by God to be the patriarch, together with his son Isaac and grandson, Jacob. Abraham was chosen by grace and his life was an example of life under the grace of God. There is nothing Abraham did that would have made him to deserve the goodness of God. It was by grace. Years later, his descendants of Abraham were slaves in Egypt and God delivered them from the yoke of slavery all by grace. The nation of Israel did not know God and served the Egyptian gods. But yet God delivered them.

God ordered Moses to construct a tabernacle as shown to him on the mountain. The tabernacle was to house the presence of God because God could not live in the original temple, man. This was because man had rejected the Lord, and that sin deserved punishment. The only man that can punished to redeem another man is one who is holy and had not sinned before. So, upon the construction of the tabernacle, there was no man that could die on behalf of others but animals. Animals were killed each year for the remission of sins, so that man could be in right standing with God for a year. But God was not living in man because the sacrifice was had not power to take away sin forever.

10  For by his sacrifice he died to sin’s power once and for all, but he now lives continuously for the Father’s pleasure.

Romans 6: 10

14  And by his one perfect sacrifice he made us perfectly holy and complete for all time!

Hebrews 6: 14

The tabernacle was a shadow and type of the man’s body yet to be occupied by the Holy Spirit. All the rituals that were performed in the tabernacle were shadows and types pointing to a day when God shall occupy man. The sacrifices, the incense, the bread, the anointing oil, the lamp-stand, the ark of the covenant, the laver and every piece of furniture was a shadow. The substance is Jesus. Any attempt to try to duplicate such practices today is veiling the Christ. Any preaching whose emphasis is the shadows and the types is veiling Christ from the people. Christ was veiled in the rituals that were performed in the tabernacle. But thanks be to God, for sending His Son, Jesus who came to fulfill the law and whose body represented the tabernacle of Moses. His body was destroyed in death and rose from the dead wit a glorified body, that cannot succumb to death. His rose in victory and lives forever. Since He rose from the dead with a new body, we have become that body and the tenant is the Holy Spirit. Christ lives in us since we are the temple He is building Himself.
