A Fruitful Life: Word Seeds
By Apostle Felix
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.Matthew 12: 33 – 37
Words are powerful. We normally look at words as mere things that has no bearing on the outcome of our lives. Hence, the careless in the manner we speak. We speak out words that can be very detrimental to our lives. In fact, we can be the worst enemies of our lives. We often hear people say, someone is the enemy of their destine. But you and I should know better that life and death is in the power of each individual’s tongue. We should not allow someone else to have control over our lives. You have a mouth by which you can set your life in a certain direction. You are absolutely responsible for your life.
6 And the tongue is a fire! It can be compared to the sum total of wickedness and is the most dangerous part of our human body. It corrupts the entire body and is a hellish flame! It releases a fire that can burn throughout the course of human existence.
James 3: 6
It is your tongue that you have to pay attention to. Not your neighbor’s tongue. Your tongue matters a lot. If you cannot have control over your tongue then you have a battle of a life’s time. People curse themselves everyday using their own tongues. It is not a witch cursing you but your own tongue. The thing is, your tongue is part of you and you cannot escape from it. You can escape the presence of the toxic person, but the tongue is ever with you. When you go to bed, there it is with you. Everywhere you can, it is with you. Therefore, tame it right. Train it to speak words that are building your life and other people’s lives. You may be asking, but how can I tame my tongue when the Bible says that it is impossible to tame it.
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.James 3: 8 – 12
James said the tongue is unruly and full of evil. But he also said, that ought not to be so. In other words, there is a solution to that seemingly impossible situation. A toxic tongue can feel hopeless to transform, especially when the attempt is done without the word of God. Let us look at Jesus’ words in Matthew 12: 34. Jesus said that the mouth can only speak that which is the heart of a man. It is the overflow of the heart, that floods the mouth. If the heart is full of toxic words, so will the mouth speak. The first place to begin at is receiving a new heart, by been born again. Then after, devote your life to rewriting your soul drive with the word of God.
2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
Romans 12: 2
Junk in, junk out. Word of God in, word of God out. The tongue can only be tamed when the soul drive is formatted by the Word of God. The tongue only gives expression to the contents of the soul. Discipline yourself enough to drinking from the well of Jesus.
