A Fruitful Life: Soul Winning
By Apostle Felix
23 He replied to them, “Now is the time for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 Let me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies. Because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died.John 12: 23, 24
Jesus came to earth to die for mankind. He did not come for a vacation. Nor did He take a sabbatical leave from His heavenly responsibilities. He came on a mission as the seed to come and die for many. His death was expedient for the salvation of man.
49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.John 11: 49, 50
Caiaphas, the high priest pronounced the death of Jesus as a necessity for the salvation of man. Though, he did not even realize what he was declaring as a high priest. It was the high priest that laid his hands on the animal and confessed all the sins of the nation of Israel, putting them upon the head of the animal.
21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:
Leviticus 16: 21
Jesus, the seed came into this world as the lamb of God. He was a sinless man, who had decided to become sin and took every curse upon Himself. Just like the Aaron sanctioned the death of the animal under the Old Testament, Caiaphas sanctioned the death of Jesus as the high priest. The death of Jesus has eternal consequences because He died as sin so that we can be made the righteousness of God.
Soul winning then is the heaven priority. Jesus died as the seed so that in Him we can find life. Before His death, Jesus healed, cast out devils, raised the dead and performed miracles. But none of those had the power to save man. He still had to die despite all the miracles He had performed. This tells us that Jesus’ ultimate mission to earth was the forgiveness of sin through His death and resurrection. Before Jesus was born of the woman as the seed of Abraham, women had the fruit of the womb like Hannah, the mother of Samuel. Lepers were cleansed like Naaman, the Syrian commander. The dead were brought to life like a dead man whose body touched Elisha’s body. However, man was still lost in sin and needed a Savior. The Savior came, died and rose from the dead. And the Savior we need to preach to others so that they can be saved. Sou winning is non-negotiable. It is a command. Preach Jesus in your workplace, your neighborhood, and in your family. Take time to tell someone about the love of Christ.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.Matthew 28: 19, 20
