A Fruitful Life

A Fruitful Life

By Apostle Felix

24  Let me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies. Because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died.

John 12: 24

We are expected to be fruitful in life. God created us with a mechanism to be fruitful. It comes natural to man to be fruitful when he meets the conditions necessary to produce. He created trees with seed to produce after their kind. When seed from a tree falls to the ground, is buried and is watered, will germinate and grow into a tree with all the potential to reproduce. God created everything with the capacity to reproduce.

11  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12  And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1: 11, 12

For the next three months, the last quarter of the year, I will be addressing the subject of fruitfulness. There is nothing good about barrenness. God detests it so we should. It goes against God’s intended creative order of fruitfulness. Barrenness has never been part of God’s agenda for man and the earth. Every married woman appreciates the fruit of the womb. Even those that may not even be worshipers of God, will do everything to overcome barrenness. They will consult medical help and some due to desperation will go to extremes of consulting witch doctors and even engage in diabolical practices that may cost their lives later in life. All in the name of of overcoming barrenness. Barrenness is not a good thing. Every child of God should know better that fruitfulness is God’s will for His children. This is because fruitfulness makes God to look and brings honor to His name.

8  When your lives bear abundant fruit, you demonstrate that you are my mature disciples who glorify my Father!

John 15: 8

I encourage you to commit yourself to reading the devotionals for the next three months. I believe they will be very helpful to make us understand what fruitfulness is and how to go about being fruitful. In the Bible, fruitfulness is a core concept encompassing both physical and spiritual results, starting with God’s command to humanity in Genesis to be fruitful and multiply, symbolizing His design for life, abundance, and growth. Fruitfulness is how a blessed life looks like. We cannot talk about the blessing without talking about fruitfulness. When God blessed Adam, He said to him to be fruitful.

28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1: 28

Fruitfulness is one of the elements that constitutes the blessing. We are not going to settle for less this time around but we have settled for a fruitful life. It doesn’t matter where your life currently is, but begin to envision a fruitful life. Do not consider your age, financial situation, or how hard the circumstances are. The power that is in the seed (the word of God) is enough to turn your life around.
