You Are Anointed

27  Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it! 

Colossians 1: 27

Anointing is the believer’s leverage. Jesus commanded His disciples to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit, the One who supplies the anointing. It is not possible to do the work of God without it. The anointing is the presence God, the divine power upon man. It is the heavenly virtue that turns an ordinary man into an extraordinary, able to accomplish extraordinary feats. It is the power that qualifies the unqualified by human standards. The first apostles were far from been qualified by human standards. They did not have qualifications.

13  The council members were astonished as they witnessed the bold courage of Peter and John, especially when they discovered that they were just ordinary men who had never had religious training. Then they began to understand the effect Jesus had on them simply by spending time with him. 

Acts 4: 13

The council was astonished at the apostles’ boldness and courage. They then realized that they had been with Jesus. They had been with Him before the cross, but after the cross Jesus was in them. Before the cross, the anointing was only in and upon Jesus. But after the cross, the anointing came upon everyone that believes in Him. The anointing is not exclusive to a few privileged individuals, but has been given to whosoever believes in Christ. Before the cross, especially under the Old Covenant, the anointing was exclusive to the priesthood and kingship.

10  Now Christ lives his life in you! And even though your body may be dead because of the effects of sin, his life-giving Spirit imparts life to you because you are fully accepted by God.

Romans 8: 10

The anointing is for believers. It is your entitlement. You have been sealed with the anointing as a child of God. The seal is like an engagement ring given to a woman as a surety of marriage. And since God is faithful, He cannot break His word, your salvation and victory stands sure. You have His word which He will never break. He watches over His word to perform it.

13  And because of him, when you who are not Jews heard the revelation of truth, you believed in the wonderful news of salvation. Now we have been stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 1: 13

The Lord is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. You are destined to be a sign and a wonder. The anointing is resides in you. Christ, the anointed One and His anointing, lives in you. The same anointing that raised Jesus from the dead, is in you. You may be wondering whether you are anointed or not. If you are born of God and Christ is in you, then you are anointed. That anointing will not disappoint you because it did not disappoint Jesus when He was in the grave. On the third day, Jesus was raised from the dead as He promised. Whatever has been promised to you, the anointing of God is well able to deliver all to you. Believe Him.
