Expansion Through Soul-Winning

Expansion Through Soul-Winning

By Apostle Felix

46  Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility.
47  They were continually filled with praises to God, enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to life.

Acts 2: 46, 47

Soul winning is the primary catalyst for church expansion; quite simply, there is no alternative. Immediately upon receiving the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, the foundational act of the early church was to win souls. Peter delivered an urgent sermon explicitly aimed at evangelism, and three thousand people were added to their number that very day—waking the church from a gathering of 120 into a thriving community of over three thousand believers. The Holy Spirit’s overarching mission on earth is to harvest souls through the body of Christ. When a local church faithfully proclaims the Gospel to its community, the Holy Spirit will continually add to their number; conversely, we cannot expect God to bring spiritual growth to a congregation that refuses to engage in outward evangelism.

6  I was the one who planted the church and Apollos came and cared for it, but it was God who caused it to grow.
7  This means the one who plants is not anybody special, nor the one who waters, for God is the one who brings the supernatural growth.
8  Now, the one who plants and the one who waters are equally important and on the same team, but each will be rewarded for his own work.

1 Corinthians 3: 6 – 8

We are all called to minister the Gospel; that is our primary calling before anything else. Whether you are a school teacher or a soldier, your ultimate assignment is to be a minister of the Gospel. You are a minister in the classroom where you teach, just as a soldier is a minister in the barracks. Soul winning is not a calling reserved for a small, elite group of people. While one leader or a small team can plant a church, its long-term growth and expansion depend entirely on the mobilisation of every single member. When every believer actively engages in evangelism, the Lord continuously adds to the church. This supernatural growth occurs when the body of Christ boldly spreads the Gospel across marketplaces, neighbourhoods, and family circles.
God wants to turn every one of us into fishers of men, just as Jesus promised His disciples. You are a fisher of men who happens to be an engineer, or a fisher of men who happens to be a nurse. The moment you view your workplace as your primary mission field, soul winning will naturally become your top priority. You are a man or woman on a mission to preach Christ in the marketplace. To leave your workplace day after day without ever attempting to win a soul is to squander God’s time and strategic resources. When you pray for a job and God grants you one, it is because He wants you to go into that industry and be a light. Shine before men; there is no better place to reflect the glory of God than in the daily workplace. Let us win souls and populate the Kingdom of God.
