You Are More Than A Conqueror

You Are More Than A Conqueror

By Apostle Felix

37  Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything!

Romans 8: 37

Life comes along with challenges. There is no life without challenges. Jesus had a set of challenges in His life. He was hunted down as a baby boy by Herod to be killed. His parents sought asylum in Egypt because the life of Jesus was under threat. He was not born in a palace but in a poor family, who lived in a small village of Nazareth. Jesus never grew up in luxury, but worked as a carpenter. His parents offered a sacrifice of turtledoves according to the law. The sacrifice of turtledoves was for those who could not afford animals like sheep. It was a poor man sacrifice.

8  And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

Leviticus 12: 8

Probably you had a challenging year of 2025, and have given up on God and on your life. You tried your best but things could not work out as planned. That can be very frustrating, especially when heavy investments were made and then have minimal returns. You have done all you can to revive your marriage but it seems all your efforts are in vain. You have prayed and fasted for that child to come back or to quit taking drugs but even that seems to be failing. You have been applying for jobs for a while now but nothing has come forth. Yet you have remained faithful, serving the Lord. I am here to remind you that Jesus overcame on your behalf. Do not despair.

33  And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”

John 16: 33

Jesus went through it all and overcame. He was tempted in every way, but yet He did not give in or despaired. Consider that season of your life as one coming to an end. Each season has its expiry date. Jesus was very aware of the seasons of life. So, He endured the season of pain because He knew that a season of glory was coming.

2  We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

Hebrews 12: 2

He endured the shame and humiliation because the day of glory was around the corner. You may not know how close you are to your day of glory. Do not despair and give up. It does not matter how the  situation looks like, the Lord has the power to turn it around. He turned Israel’s situation of abject poverty when they were under the Syrian siege.

1  Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
2  Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

2 Kings 7: 1, 2

The situation looked hopeless in Israel. People were dying of hunger and had even started eating their children. The situation was critical. The economy was in red. But the Lord intervened by giving a word through His prophet, Elisha. The situation was turned around within twenty four hours and Israel had food enough to feed the entire population. In this last days, the Lord has spoken by His Son, Jesus.

1  Throughout our history God has spoken to our ancestors by his prophets in many different ways. The revelation he gave them was only a fragment at a time, building one truth upon another.
2  But to us living in these last days, God now speaks to us openly in the language of a Son, the appointed Heir of everything, for through him God created the panorama of all things and all time.

Hebrews 1: 1, 2

In these days, The Lord speaks to us in the language of His Son. The language of the Son of God is that He has overcome the world. He has given us victory. You may not feel victorious but the truth is that you a victorious. You are more than a conqueror. His language is that you are blessed. You may not feel blessed. You have been provided for. He has given you all you need for life and godliness. Therefore,  give Him praise and thanksgiving in this season instead of focusing so much on what did not work this year.
