The Spirit of Power

The Spirit of Power

By Apostle Felix

24  But for those who have been chosen to follow him, both Jews and Greeks, he is God’s mighty power, God’s true wisdom, and our Messiah.

1 Corinthians 1: 24

Power is the most coveted thing in the world. Everyone wants power. We have two powers which are coveted most, the political and economical powers. Both powers do secure strategic positions in society for individuals. Power of course comes with influence, and in turns brings more affluence. These powers can be sought so desperately that individuals go for spiritual powers in order to attain the two powers. People seek occultic powers, and it is so unfortunate that this tendency of seeking occultic powers has crept into the church. The attraction is the demonstration of power, hence attracting influence and affluence. People want power. Does God withhold His power from His people? No, the power of God is the gospel of Christ. In essence, the power of God is Christ.

16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 1: 16

The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. The gospel is all about Christ. The gospel is about what Jesus had done and accomplished for man. It is the finished work of Christ. Any message that is proclaimed as those there is unfinished business is not the gospel and lacks the power of God to save. There are no unfinished businesses in Christ. He cried it is finished.

The problem with man is the desire for power without Christ. And that’s the problem the church is facing today. Believers want power without the revelation of Christ. Any power without the revelation of Christ will induce another spirit that will masquerade as the Spirit of power from God. But the power will have the tendency of exalting man instead of exalting the God who gives the power. The purpose of power is to make Christ known. God gets glorified when people are healed. The Spirit of power attributes every manifestation to God. Man will decrease and God will increase. When the power of God is made manifest, man diminishes and Christ is amplified.
