You Are Not Alone
By Apostle Felix
45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?Matthew 27: 45, 46
Jesus said that in this world, we shall have trouble, but we have to be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world. Life can be challenging. There are dark days, weeks and months that may seem like will never come to an end. There are days when people may even seem not to care at all. Friends may even desert you, and some betray you. Some relatives may not even want anything to do with you. Probably, you are in that space where everything looks dark and gloomy. You have prayed and fasted, and yet the situation is not changing. You have done all you know best but yet your life not getting any better.
4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.Genesis 45: 4, 5
There was a young man who went through a dark period in his life not because he did anything evil to deserve what he went through. It was just because of the dream God had shown him. There are several reasons why we go through dark periods in life. Some of the reasons are: the decisions we make, the lifestyles we choose to live, and oftentimes because of our dreams. For today, we are going to focus more on the dream of your life.
Jesus suffered the shame and rejection because of His dream of saving mankind. Joseph, though he did not initially understand why he had to be sold in Egypt, it was all for the saving of an emerging nation, Israel. He had to go through all that for the sake of a nation of Israel. Joseph, was probably trying to figure out what he had done wrong to deserve that kind of treatment. Why should my own brothers reject me in this way. He had many questions that went unanswered. Probably, he even prayed about his life situation, and instead found himself in prison. Through it all, God was with him. God is with you. You are not alone. You may feel like forsaken and rejected, but remember, God will never leave nor forsake you.
5 Don’t be obsessed with money but live content with what you have, for you always have God’s presence. For hasn’t he promised you, “I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!”
Hebrews 13: 5
The dark period is not there to remain permanently. In Jesus’ case, the dark hour graduated into a three day in the tomb, but on the third day, He rose from the dead. He conquered death and all that is associated with it. The dark period of your life, will definitely come to an end. You are not alone in it. The Lord is with you. Man can leave and forsake you, but your God cannot. He was rejected for your sake. He knows how it feels to be alone, to be rejected and mocked. He went through it all. Hold on to Him. You are not alone.
