You Are God’s Workmanship

10  We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it! 

Ephesians 2: 10

You are a person of purpose. Purpose has become a subject matter in the world today. A black man is fighting for his identity and purpose, while a white man is trying to suppress him. Racism is becoming rife around the globe. We are witnessing the white South Africans relocating to United States of America as refugees. We are witnessing the revolution taking place in the Sahel region. All what is happening around is informing us that identity and purpose is stronger than skin colour. It is impossible to oppress a man who has discovered his identity and purpose in life. The discovery of identity and purpose brings about recovery in relationships. Both, superiority and inferiority complexes are detrimental to humanity.

4  And he chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence. 

5  For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace—for the same love he has for his Beloved One, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure!

Ephesians 1: 4, 5

You are God’s workmanship, created by God to fulfil the purpose of God on earth. Regardless of your skin pigmentation, you have been chosen by God to fulfill a destine. The colour of your skin should not be a limitation to exploit all what God has for you. Do not allow someone’s ignorance of who you are to limit you. You are more than your skin. For anyone to judge your potential by the colour of your skin is very wrong. The body houses a recreated being that has been destined for greatness. In every moving body you around houses a great person. Some have come to that realization and some are yet to realize who they truly are. You were chosen by God before you were born. God endowed you with all that is needed to fulfill your purpose way before you were born. The chosen, anointed and appointed person was then allocated into the body you are in right now. That body suits your purpose you were born for. Do not allow anybody to undermine the colour of your skin, tribe, language, or your location.

28  And we no longer see each other in our former state—Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female—because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us. 

Galatians 3: 28

It is vitally important to address this problem of identity in our today. The church people fall victim to this problem of identity. It is very important to establish our identity in Christ and be able to resist the influences of worldly complexes. Lately, the church has been gravitating towards the worldly kind of identity. Our identity is in Christ. You are important because Christ has made you righteous. You are important because you have the mind of Christ. You are important because you are seated with Him in the heavenly places in Christ.  Your identity cannot be defined in earthly terms. It is not because of the size of the car one drives. No, our identity is in the Christ who lives in the person. Take pride in the fact that you are of God.
