Worry Free Life

Worry Free Life

By Apostle Felix

31  “So then, forsake your worries! Why would you say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’
32  For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesn’t your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require?

Matthew 6: 31, 32

Worry has become an occupation for so many people, especially in the month of January. Worry is like a default setting for those in problems, like health or financial problems. Ironically, christians to have problems in this world. Jesus alluded to the fact that believers will have problems as long as they are in this world.

33  And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”

John 16: 33

Jesus never promised a problem free life, but He did encourage us to keep a cheerful disposition in the face of problems. You and I cannot be both, cheerful and worryful. Worry creates an environment fit for depression and anxiety to thrive. You cannot find joy where there is worry. Worry denotes unbelief. This is the reason why God does not appreciate worry. Jesus said that we should not worry about anything, what we should wear or what we should eat. How can we have a worry free life then?

33  “So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly.

Matthew 6: 33

Prioritizing the kingdom of God and His righteousness is the remedy for worry. Seeking the kingdom of God is not making it as one of the many things sought. It is not a number one on the list of things sought. The kingdom of God should be the reason for doing all other things. Seeking the kingdom of God eliminates worry about the less important things, because it makes one to be occupied with God’s business. Things are added to you when you seek the kingdom of God, instead of seeking things.
