Unprecedented, Extravagant Favour

15  Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.
Esther 2: 15

The word unprecedented means, never done, or known before; while extravagant means, exceeding what is reasonable or appropriate, excessive. Favour is God stepping into your situation to make a worthwhile difference. It is the highway to connect your destine to fulfilment. God has granted favour to His children for the purpose of making His purpose possible. You need favour to fulfill all God has called you to do on earth. Jesus, the Son of God found favour in the sight of God and man. If God needed favour in order to fulfill the redemptive plan, then you and I need favour too to fulfill what God has called us to do.

52  And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Luke 2: 52

It is favour that causes all God’s goodness to come in your direction. Of course, challenges will be there, but favour will absorb the effect of challenges. Joseph is our  example of one who was favoured of God even when he was a slave boy. In the midst of all the pain and difficulties, favour was on his side, making a difference in his life. No matter how  hard life turns out to be, favour will make a difference in life and make all things possible.

4  And Joseph found favor in his sight, and he ministered unto him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.
Genesis 39: 4

God’s favour is God’s power that changes things for us. It is lavish in nature – unprecedented, extravagant.

The Way of Favour

Esther’s Example

1. Birthright

Esther was born into a nation that had a covenant with God. Her birthright entitled her to God’s goodness through favour.

7  that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:
8  for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9  not of works, that no man should glory.
Ephesians 2: 7 – 9

2. Treasure the Word.

Psa 119:130  The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

3. Follow the Holy Spirit Promptings

5. The Walk of Faith

1  Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
2  And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
