The Third Day

1  In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 2  And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. 3  His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow Matthew 28: 1 – 3

The third day was like any other normal day. The people were up and running around, attending to their usual businesses. Sunday was a working day for the Jewish community. They rested on Saturdays for Sabbath and resumed work from Sundays. However, this Sunday turned out to be unique because it was the day Jesus Christ rose from the dead. The women, Mary Magdalene and Mary rushed to the tomb early in the morning to go and anoint and embalm the body of Jesus. As they approached the tomb, they witnessed a supernatural phenomena of the angel appearing to the remove the stone from the tomb. The Saviour left the tomb in victory.

Jesus’ resurrection did the following for humanity:

You have been adopted into the the family of God as sons and daughters through the resurrection of Jesus. You are no longer a servant, but a son. Your service is no longer a qualifier but what Jesus did for you qualifies you.

Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:7

You have been blessed by being born of God. Everyone born of God is born of the incorruptible seed, which is the word of God. You are incorruptible immune by virtue of birth. You died with Christ and rose together with Him. It is impossible for you to be cursed. Go and ask Balaam in Numbers 22: 12

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree Galatians 3: 13

You are seated together with Christ in heavenly places.The resurrection changed your location from the earth man to an heavenly man. As Christ is, so are you in this world. You are in position of power and authority because you are in Christ in heavenly places. There is no devil that can gate crash into heavenly places to come and torment you. You are safe!

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus Ephesians 2: 6

You have been freed once and for all. Lazarus was untied by people after Jesus had raised him from the dead. But Jesus was not untied by men but the power of the Holy Spirit. The good news is that you and me were together right there and when He rose from the dead, we rose with Him. There is nothing around your life that need untying by man. Jesus did it all. You are free!

4  And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5  And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? Luke 24: 4, 5
