The Royal Nation

9  But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world. 

1 Peter 2: 9

You belong to the family of kings and priests. It is a family of holy people, the called out ones by the Living God. You are part of this glorious family. Every member of the family of God is regarded as special, a treasure. There is none inferior or superior in the family of God. Each individual family member has equal access to God. In the family of God, there is neither white or black, rich or poor, male or female, everyone is equally important in God’s sight.

28  And we no longer see each other in our former state—Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female—because we’re all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us. 

Galatians 3: 28

In the family of God, every member has been endued with authority and power. Every member is considered as a first born in Christ Jesus and and an heir together with Christ. In this family, everyone is an ambassador for Christ, a representative of the kingdom of God.

20  We are ambassadors of the Anointed One who carry the message of Christ to the world, as though God were tenderly pleading with them directly through our lips. So we tenderly plead with you on Christ’s behalf, “Turn back to God and be reconciled to him.” 

2 Corinthians 5: 20

An ambassador is one representing his country in a foreign land. Every ambassador is the image of his country. The embassy is called a mission, and every one working there is a diplomat. Their main mission is to represent their country and its citizens. The ambassador and the embassy itself, though in a foreign land is regarded as a country within a country. It is even supported by it’s own government. The ambassador is taken care of by his sending government. He is also protected by his own government. You are an ambassador of Christ, sent by God. He did not send you empty handed, but He empowered you with everything you will ever need to fulfill His mission on earth.

3  Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.
