The Role of Thoughts In Taking Over

The Role of Thoughts In Taking Over

By Apostle Felix

33  And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Numbers 13: 33

27  How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
28  Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

Numbers 14: 27, 28

Your thoughts play a vital role in your life, ultimately determining its outcome. As the saying goes, you cannot rise above your thought life, because every battle is won or lost in the realm of the mind. Consider the twelve Israelites who were sent to spy out the Promised Land. They explored the land for forty days before returning to the camp in the wilderness. Although none of the inhabitants even knew they were there, ten of the spies—excluding Caleb and Joshua—saw the people through human eyes rather than the eyes of God. The inhabitants never said a word about them; instead, the spies declared that they were like grasshoppers in their own sight. Their flawed mindset completely dictated their self-judgment.

Ultimately, you can be your own worst enemy, acting as either a blessing or a curse to your own life. In many cases, a person becomes their own toxic environment simply because they can never escape themselves; you are present for every single second of your life. While a neighbour you perceive as an enemy is only around occasionally, you are stuck with yourself constantly. Therefore, do yourself a favour and completely overhaul your thought life. As the Bible encourages us, we must actively renew our minds with the Word of God.

1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12: 1, 2

The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for forty years, not because God willed it, but because their mindset demanded it. A journey that was supposed to take a mere eleven days stretched into forty years due to the state of their minds. The condition of your mind can either prolong or accelerate your process. Before you blame demonic activity for your delays, audit your thought life. As a believer in Christ, you do not need to waste time wondering if generational or family demons are harassing you; simply examine the content of your mind, and you will discover exactly where the problem lies.

If you are down, it is not because your circumstances dictate it; it is because your mind has been convinced of it. God has promised that we are always above and never beneath. Furthermore, the Scripture declares that whatever comes from above is above all. Because you have been born from above, you are inherently positioned above all things.

31  He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
