The Mystery of Christ Revealed part two

THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST REVEALED – PART TWO

By Apostle Felix

9  And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

10  And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Genesis 4: 9, 20

The promise of the coming Messiah was a nightmare to satan. He thought, the fall of man was going to be a permanent state. So, when he heard about the promise of a son to be born as the Savior, he committed himself to kill any  male child that has the fear of God. Adam and Eve had two sons, namely Cain and Abel. Abel had the fear of God and that attracted satan’s attention, assuming Abel to be the promised seed.

15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Genesis 3: 15

He thought Abel was the seed promised to come and crush the devil’s head. He was on the lookout for the seed promised. Satan did not know the time when the promised seed shall be born. So he mistook Abel for the Saviour, who was to come to liberate mankind. So, satan had to kill Abel before he could be crushed. The killing of Abel was motivated by his quest to silence the Messiah. It was  not necessarily about the offering, but Abel’s sacrifice was a typology of the Christ. The world, even today is antagonistic towards the church. Satan’s hatred of the church has to do with the revelation of Christ. What he does not want in the earth is the Christ.

God did not reject the offering of Cain because he offered vegetables. It was because his sacrifice lacked the revelation of Christ. It is the shedding of the blood took away the sins of the world. And Cain’s attitude and thinking patterns were conformed to satan’s diabolical system, which hated righteousness. Cain went ahead to kill his brother because of jealousy. He shed the blood of his brother, whose blood was crying for vengeance. No human blood has the capacity to justify anyone.

10  And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Genesis 4: 10

Satan killed a wrong person. Committed himself to watching out for Christ in every generation. He was very desperate to kill the Christ. The death of Abel was not unto the salvation of mankind. But it was for condemnation. Cain was condemned for killing his brother. But the blood of Jesus that was shed for the remission of sins.

22  And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Hebrews 9: 22

Abel’s blood had no power to save. Though his blood had no power, Abel foreshadowed the death of Christ. Redemption of humanity needed the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. Abel saw Christ in the shadow of his sacrifice. The sacrifice of Abel infuriated the devil so much that he possessed Cain in order to kill Abel. The battle you are going through today is due to the Christ in you. Jesus had warned His disciples about the opposition and persecution they will face for His name’s sake.

20  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

John 15: 20
