The Life of Christ in You

26 There is a divine mystery—a secret surprise that has been concealed from the world for generations, but now it’s being revealed, unfolded and manifested for every holy believer to experience. 27  Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!

Colossians 1: 26, 27

Christ in you is the life of God in you. Many believers in Christ do not know the one who is in their lives. If all believers knew the one who is  in them, the church would have been truly the light of the world. Unfortunately, we have a church that is suffering from identity crisis. We can actually deduce the state of the church by the manner believers conduct themselves. If at all we knew who we are and whose we are, we cannot be intimidated and be pushed around by defeated devils. It is Christians possessing such enormous power that fall prey to the enemy. The backdrop of a victorious life is the understanding of who is in you.

Men become winners as soon as they realize who they are and what they are capable of doing. The stronghold of slavery is simply a mental degradation of its victims. Its impossible to turn a man into a slave whose mental faculties are sound. A sound mind cannot be bound. Despite the chains on his legs and arms, apostle Paul was able to encourage those whose arms and legs were free to be joyful. How can a man incarcerated, yet encourage others to be strong?

4 Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let joy overflow, for you are united with the Anointed One!

Philippians 4: 4

We do not encourage others from what is happening to us, but we do from what has happened in us. From the position of who we are in Christ. Jesus was not bothered with what was happening to them on the sea. While the storm was raging from without, Jesus was calm within, and from the power within He was able to calm the storm. Do not allow the storm to get into you. It is not what is happening to you that defines you, but what has happened in you. Christ in you the hope of glory is your definition. Man’s problem is not the devil, but ignorance. Jesus said that the truth sets free. The truth is light, it is opposite of ignorance.

32 For if you embrace the truth, it will release more freedom into your lives.”

John 8: 32

The knowledge of the truth sets us free. Jesus was very explicit in His attempt to explain what gives us freedom. It is the entrance of His word into our lives.

130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Psalm 119: 130

The entrance of His word brings the awareness of who is in our lives. Light brings an awareness of our surroundings. Visibility is affected negatively in a dark room. But the moment we switch on the light, then we are able to see what is in the room. The church has been wasting too much time on trying to destroy the devil that has been destroyed by Jesus Christ. Let us focus on enlightening the church to this reality that Christ is in us. If Christ is in us, how should our lives be?
