The Blood of Jesus
By Apostle Felix
27 Then taking the cup of wine and giving praises to the Father, he entered into covenant with them, saying, “This is my blood. Each of you must drink it in fulfillment of the covenant.
Mat 26:28 For this is the blood that seals the new covenant. It will be poured out for many for the complete forgiveness of sins.Matthew 26: 28
Life is in the blood. Blood is very essential to life on earth. In the natural, blood is the lifeline because oxygen and nutrients the body needs is transported through the blood. It also acts as a communication highway, carrying hormones from endocrine glands to their target organs to regulate growth and metabolism. The blood plays vital functions in the human body such as removing wastes such as carbon dioxide, acts as a defense against viruses and other foreign invaders, repairs wounded parts of the blood through blood clots, it also regulates body temperature and helps to maintain body chemical balance for the proper functionality of body organs. The insufficiency or contaminated blood may lead to serious healthy serious. Blood is very essential to life.
11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Leviticus 17: 11
God gave the blood as an avenue of atonement for man’s soul and spirit. There can never be remission of sin without the shedding of blood.
22 Actually, nearly everything under the law was purified with blood, since forgiveness only comes through an outpouring of blood.
Hebrews 9: 22
Under the old covenant, God passed a law to the children of Israel to offer the blood of animals for the remission of their sins each year. The offering of blood was done every year. The offering of the blood of animals was exclusively done within the confines of the Tabernacle, which was erected by Moses and the children of Israel. The high priest entered the Holy of Holies with blood to present before the mercy seat. This ritual was done once per year and Israel would experience relieve for a one year period. The ritual had to be repeated each year.
We have to study and understand the Tabernacle in order to grasp and understand the revelation behind the blood of JESUS. The Tabernacle was ordered to be built by God so that His presence could dwell there. Since God could not dwell in man because of sin, He decided His presence to dwell in a Tabernacle. The tabernacle was a typology of man. It had three sections; the outer court, the holy place and the holy of holies. The outer court presented the body, while the holy place and the holy of holies represented the soul of man and the spirit of man respectively. The sacrifices were done in the outer court, which is the body. Jesus needed a body for God to be susceptible to death. He borrowed a body and that qualified Jesus to become a sacrificial lamb, shedding blood for the remission of our sins.
5 So when Jesus the Messiah came into the world he said, “Since your ultimate desire was not another animal sacrifice, you have clothed me with a body that I might offer myself instead!
Hebrews 10: 5
When the work was finished of constructing the Tabernacle and offered the burnt offering and the meat offering, as the Lord had commanded Moses, then the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.
33 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.
34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.Exodus 40: 33, 34
God was eager to live among His people. His presence filled the Tabernacle as soon as the Tabernacle was complete and the sacrifices were done. Jesus died as a sacrificial lamb, whose body was mutilated for the shedding of blood. His blood cleansed the holy place and the holy of holies for the Holy Spirit to come and dwell in man. You have been cleansed from every sin forever. In the Tabernacle of Moses, the sacrifices were done every year, but the in the temple of Jesus, the sacrifice was done once and for all. He only shed His blood once and for all for the salvation of man.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
