26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The blessing is one of the misunderstood items in life. What many refer to as the blessing is not the blessing at all. The blessing cannot be equated to the seen substance or something that one can acquire from a car garage or a clothing shop. The blessing is the CREATIVE POWER of God, and it has its own nature and character. The blessing of God upon someone can easily be identified by the nature and character of the results it is producing. The blessing is a result – oriented force of God. Force is scientifically defined as “the push or pull on an object with mass that causes it to change its velocity.” Force is an external agent capable of changing the state of rest or motion of a particular body. It has a magnitude and a direction. According to that scientific definition, force is an agent that is able to change the location of an object from one place to another. In the absence of force all will be motionless and that may perpetuate stagnation. The struggles in life are in most cases attributed to the absence of the blessing.

The fall of man is the worst thing that ever happened to mankind. It’s worse than the trafficking of children and women. It’s worse than the famine once witnessed in Somalia and Ethiopia. It’s worse than injustices levelled against the man of colour during slave trade. It’s worse than the crimes that were perpetuated by the third Reich, led by Adolf Hilter. There is nothing that can be compared to the severity of the fall in Genesis chapter 3. The fall of man had more to do with the blessing than it had to do with the ownership of the earth.

The study of the blessing will help us to understand what the blessing is and what the blessing is not. The desire of every man is the manifestation of the blessing in one’s life. However, the problem is in the way man tries to access the blessing. The blessing of God has its own structure and the seeker of the blessing should understand that structure. A human structure is different from an elephant’s structure. An attempt to try to dress an elephant on a human suit may prove futile. The reason is simple, the human anatomy is very different from an elephant’s anatomy. What is an anatomy? Anatomy, according to dictionary.com is the science dealing with the structure of animals and plants. The webster’s dictionary defines it as a structural makeup especially of an organism or any of its parts.
