The Age of Deception 2

The Age of Deception

By Apostle Felix

10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Matthew 24: 10 – 12

We are living in an age where deception has become rampant. While deceivers once hid and did their dirty work in the dark, they now operate openly in public spaces, turning churches into common grounds for deception. In the past, witchcraft was practiced secretly in shrines by witch doctors; today, it has been brought directly into the church, and Christians have become its customers. One no longer needs to travel to a remote village to find a fetish priest. Instead, one can simply wake up on a Sunday morning and encounter one at a church service. The only difference is that modern fetish priests wear elegant suits, operating in environments decorated with contemporary furniture and equipped with high-tech sound systems. They read from Scripture and pose as Bible teachers, making it incredibly difficult to distinguish a true prophet from a false one—especially for those who lack knowledge. This is not just any general knowledge, but specifically the true revelation of Christ.
Great multitudes follow these falsehoods for several reasons, chief among them being this lack of Christ’s revelation. When Christ is veiled within a congregation, the masses inevitably resort to “another Jesus.” Indeed, the defining deception of our age is the intentional veiling of Christ from the people. Jesus warned that in the last days, many would come claiming to be the Christ and would deceive many. Convincing multitudes of such a lie is simple: one merely has to hide the true Christ and deliver a counterfeit version in His place. This is achieved through the preaching of a false gospel.

3  But now I’m afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s clever lies, your thoughts may be corrupted and you may lose your single-hearted devotion and pure love for Christ.
4  For you seem to gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you preaching a pseudo-Jesus, not the Jesus we have preached. You have accepted a spirit and gospel that is false, rather than the Spirit and gospel you once embraced. How tolerant you have become of these imposters!

2 Corinthians 11: 3, 4

The Apostle Paul warns the church against a false gospel that preaches a counterfeit Jesus. This false Jesus is presented by exalting human leadership and overemphasising Old Covenant practices. False prophets heavily focus on magnifying external human problems rather than addressing the core issues of the heart. While a false prophet will never confront the true condition of your soul, he will readily tell you about the witchcraft in your family. However, Jesus did not come to merely manage the witches in your family; He came so that human hearts—including those of witches—could be radically transformed. If a prophet’s focus is entirely on external, physical circumstances, he is likely a deceiver who is veiling Christ from you.
Christ is also veiled through the introduction of physical elements, such as “anointed” water, anointing oils, mantles, or other material items. True contact with God cannot be mediated through physical objects. Scripture establishes that there is only one mediator between God and humanity: Christ Jesus. Introducing physical mediums into Christianity ultimately hides the true Christ from the people, replacing spiritual intimacy with material substitutes.

15  But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16  Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

2 Corinthians 3: 15 – 17

Deception within the church is subtle because it often mimics the sound of the true gospel. However, not all good news equates to the Gospel of Christ. Landing a new job or becoming pregnant is certainly good news, but neither is the gospel. Modern church culture has dangerously reduced the gospel to mere “things.” Material breakthroughs and physical possessions are frequently treated as the ultimate message, and congregations have begun to view them as such. Yet, people were securing employment and accumulating wealth long before Christ was born, and those without Christ continue to do so today. The true gospel—the one that removes the veil from human eyes—is strictly the revelation of Jesus Christ. The moment we begin treating the gospel as a vehicle for material acquisition, the risk of syncretism skyrockets. Historically, people consult witch doctors to obtain material favors; therefore, if believers begin seeking God solely for physical things, the true gospel will inevitably be hijacked by a form of religious fetishism.
