Man is a tripartite being, who is a spirit, possesses a soul, and lives in the body. The complexity of man is in his ability to will and make decisions that influences his eternal abode. He is a unique being that has been created in the image and after the likeness of God. He is not in the animals’ class. Man’s existence can not be possible without God. God is man’s source and sustainer.

The Hidden Man

Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 TPT

You are a new creation through the resurrection of Jesus. The old man and its past were buried, and the new man was born. The new man is your spirit, who is the real you. You are essentially a spirit man who is having a physical experience. The real you is the hidden man from the physical eye, but yet his presence and effects can be seen and felt all the time. God, who is spirit, decided to become man in order to identify with us. Spirits do not die, so He had to be born as man in physical body so that He can be susceptible to death like man.

We have now identified with Him in His resurrection so that we can have the life of God. The spirit man upon accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour is made alive, never to be separated from God again. Your spirit has become one with God through resurrection. Just like man became one with death when he sinned against God, man is now one with God through the resurrection of Christ. Your spirit is as complete and perfect and mature as Jesus.
