Revelation of Faith Part 4

I refuse to be ashamed of sharing the wonderful message of God’s liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere! This gospel unveils a continual revelation of God’s righteousness—a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe. And it moves us from receiving life through faith, to the power of living by faith. This is what the Scripture means when it says: “We are right with God through life-giving faith!” Romans 1: 16, 17 TPT

The justified live by the faith of God. We are justified by faith and live by the same faith. It would be naivety for anyone to presume that one can be saved by grace and yet live by the works of the law. The challenge with most believers is to adjust to the new life of faith in Christ. The children of Israel faced a similar challenge after they were delivered from Egypt. They struggled to transition from relying on handouts from the Egyptians to trusting God for provision and protection.

A life of faith can be very challenging to a christian who is mixing faith and works. The Galatian church fell into the same trap of mixing faith with works. It was a church that started in faith and then later gravitated toward works. Some brothers had sneaked into the church with a message of faith, mixed with works.

And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: Galatians 2: 4

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Galatians 3: 5

Faith is key to living a victorious life in Christ. Faith in Christ is exclusive to Christians. It is our faith in Christ and the walk of faith that makes us move from victory to victory. Apostle John referred to this kind of faith that ensures us a life of victory in 1 John 4: 5.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Faith is not a mental assent. It is not a strong personality. It has got nothing to do with someone’s personality or intelligent quotient. It is beyond man’s capabilities. The faith of God is of God, and anyone born of God has the faith of God. It is the gospel of Christ that imparts faith upon the believers. We need to hear the gospel of Christ in order to have the faith of God.

Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One. Romans 10: 17

The just live on the gospel of Christ in order to live by faith. The gospel is the food for the just. It does not need to be a mixture, but the gospel with a bias for Christ. Faith has a bias, and its bias is Christ and His finished work. The righteous live by that kind of faith – Christ and His finished work.
