Reigning Through Righteousness

Reigning Through Righteousness

By Apostle Felix

17  Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah!  21  And just as sin reigned through death, so also this sin-conquering grace will reign as king through righteousness, imparting eternal life through Jesus, our Lord and Messiah! Romans 5: 17, 21

You were created by God to reign in life. Man by default, is a royal being. The defaulting settings of a man can only be found in God’s Word. Jesus’s mission was to come and reset man to his original default settings. Unfortunately, man resists the reset and stubbornly wants to remain with a corrupt setting from the devil. We see kings around that have been relegated to slavery, a life of shame and bondage. We see kings been dragged around like mere men. Hopelessness taken as captives by the enemy.

Jesus came to set the captives free from sin and death. You pay attention to the word of God, Jesus set us free from sin and death, not necessarily from the enemy. The devil is useless and powerless in the absence of sin. Sin legalizes satan to cause havoc in someone’s life. Satan was a nonentity before man sinned. He could not find access in man’s life without sin. Man’s sin in garden if Eden was drunkenness or fornication but a rejection of  God’s plan for their lives. Instead, they chose satan’s words over God’s word. Sin is the missing of the mark, which is God’s will for mankind. Adam and Eve declared independence from God. They became democratic rather than theocratic. Democracy is reigning through the majority vote. Theocracy is God reigning through men.

30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5: 30

Those are the words of a man, whose life is fully dependent on God. Jesus was that man. He was God, who had decided to become man for the purpose of redemption. Yet, He was fully submissive to God and could do nothing without seeking God’s will. He came into this world as the last Adam. The first Adam declared independence, so as the last Adam, He came to restore dependence on God.

55  So death, tell me, where is your victory? Tell me death, where is your sting? 56  It is sin that gives death its sting and the law that gives sin its power. 57  But we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. 1 Corinthians 15: 55 – 57

Victory has been given to us in Christ Jesus. And this victory is over sin and death. You as a child of God, victory is not something you acquire after dislodging some demonic powers in prayer. No! Victory was given to you the day you accepted Christ as your personal Saviour and Lord. You have been made more than a conqueror in Christ. You reign in life, not through human effort, but through the righteousness of Christ. Way before you have entered an arena of prayer and fasting, Christ had already declared you a winner. You reign from that elevated position, and not trying to get to that position. You are a winner.
