Real Prosperity

The Real Prosperity

By Apostle Felix

35  “When virtue is stored within, the hearts of good and upright people will produce good fruit. But when evil is hidden within, those who are evil will produce evil fruit.
36  You can be sure of this: when the day of judgment comes, everyone will be held accountable for every careless word he has spoken.
37  Your very words will be used as evidence against you, and your words will declare you either innocent or guilty.”

Matthew 12: 35 – 37

Real prosperity is an intangible commodity, that cannot be seen with physical eyes. It cannot be quantified in earthly terms. What God calls prosperity is different from what man calls prosperity. Man calls abundance of money prosperity, but God sees beyond the abundance of money to the abundance of the heart. God created all that is tangible with His word.

3  Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen.

Hebrews 11: 3

By His word, God created everything. God’s word is His character. The word and God are inseparable. The word of God is the TRUTH. It is infallible. All the visible world is the product of the integrity of God’s word.

The word, ‘Prosperity’ implies holistic success, spiritually, physically, mentally, socially, financially and all areas of life. God’s will for man is that he prospers, holistically. The holistic prosperity centres on the world of God. It is the word that sustains the world and the ends thereof. The word was used to create and sustain. It is the intangible that created the tangible world. Therefore, the emphasis should be the intangible word in order to possess the tangible. The intangible word became flesh and dwelt amongst us. Jesus should be the emphasis.

14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1: 14

The emphasis of financial prosperity has replaced the source of holistic prosperity, who is Christ. That approach has brought more pain in the body of Christ than the prosperity desperately coveted. Jesus came to earth to save man from what he could not save himself from, which is sin. There were rich people before Christ came to earth, but there was none righteous. Jesus came to address the condition of man’s heart that had rebelled against God.

Financial prosperity has the tendency of amplifying the content of the heart. A heart that is not transformed by Jesus, is puffed up when money comes into the pockets. This is because the abundance of one’s heart is not filled with the owner of all things, and instead is filled with what the owner owns, the created things. Pride is the result when one’s heart is filled with the created things. The preacher’s responsibility is to facilitate transformation by providing the word of God that is able to do that. Unfortunately, the church is fed on the word that is activating covetousness and lust for things. If the church can be taught right on the doctrine of Christ and well trained in wealth creation, the church will be wealthy and yet spiritual. Now, we are faced with the situation where the church is corrupt and competing with the world with worldliness. We have a church that have high regard for material wealth than character. Church people are now following men and women based on what they are wearing, affluence, the car they drive and the house they live in. The priorities have been misplaced by emphasizing the tangible on the expense of the intangible. The church needs proper discipleship in the teaching of Christ and be trained on how to create wealth. It’s so sad to see the masses saying amen to everything said from the pulpit. Preacher stands to convince the congregants that they cannot prosper because they are curses in their bloodline. These are the same person who have not read a single book on business and yet they expect to become millionaires by laying hands on them and applying cooking oil on them. Fill your heart with Christ and His word and your head with wealth creation knowledge.
