By Apostle Felix
My commission is to preach the good news. Yet it is not entirely new, but the fulfillment of the hope promised to us through the many prophecies found in the sacred Scriptures. For the gospel is all about God’s Son. As a man he descended from David’s royal lineage, but as the mighty Son of God he was raised from the dead and miraculously set apart with a display of triumphant power supplied by the Spirit of Holiness. And now Jesus is our Lord and our Messiah. Romans 1:2
Resurrection of Jesus from the dead carries great significance for humanity. For anybody who realizes the power that lies in the resurrection the sooner one attains total freedom. Freedom is ultimately in Jesus’ resurrection. Many have died and everyone will, but the resurrection part only Jesus Christ perfectly fulfilled. Lazarus was raised from the dead by Jesus but still died years later. Jesus died, was buried and on the third day He rose from the dead, never to die again. He lives forever as One who overcame death.
For you know that your lives were ransomed once and for all from the empty and futile way of life handed down from generation to generation. It was not a ransom payment of silver and gold, which eventually perishes 1 Peter 1: 18
The death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ has brought salvation once and for all. His resurrection has enough power to eliminate the curses and iniquities handed down from generation to generation. There is no curse or demon spirit stubborn enough to resist the resurrection power of Christ and put up a fight. The ignorance of the resurrection power gives devils the power to resist. They are not resisting Christ, but resisting the person because he does not know the power that lies in the resurrection. Jesus was a descendant of David’s royal lineage, but the resurrection qualified Him to ascend above the limitations and infirmities of man.
David was a man that had shortcomings in his life and died as a man. He never rose from the dead. All the men and women in the lineage Jesus was born, died as natural men and women, with all their limitations and infirmities. But Jesus resurrected and overcame man’s limitations and sin. He conquered death itself. His victory over death is an assurance to man that there is nothing to hard for God.
“Martha,” Jesus said, “You don’t have to wait until then. I am the Resurrection, and I am Life Eternal. Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever. John 11: 25
Faith in Jesus, as the Resurrection is critical to experiencing the miraculous power of God. It is not in our power to perform miracles, but it is in the power of His resurrection. If Jesus was resurrected from the dead, what can He fail to do for you and me. Nothing!
For God has proved his love by giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give. Romans 8: 32
God is worth trusting because He fulfilled His word concerning the death and resurrection of Jesus. Whatever the Lord has promised you, He will certainly fulfill. Have faith in God!
