Much More!

Rom 5:16  And this free-flowing gift imparts to us much more than what was given to us through the one who sinned. For because of one transgression, we are all facing a death sentence with a verdict of “Guilty!” But this gracious gift leaves us free from our many failures and brings us into the perfect righteousness of God—acquitted with the words “Not guilty!” 

Romans 5: 16

God is a much more God. His dealings with man are over and above. He is a good God, therefore, only over and above good things come from the Lord. There is no evil in God, and practically impossible for God impart evil on Hos children. If earthly fathers, who are evil can be good to their children. Everything God created was good, and all that comes from Him is good.

Jas 1:17  Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change.

God is a good God. He gives freely to His children. He gives lavishly. Jesus supplied bread and fish for five thousand men, besides women and children. The five loaves and two fish was all the food that was there. The food was not enough to feed the multitude. It was Jesus that identified the need that the people were hungry. Many people have been made to believe that God is talked into giving to His children. That kind of attitude is expressed in the way some believers pray. The scripture often misquoted is ‘The kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.’ Jesus did not mean that we have to wrestle with God to squeeze an answer from Him. No, Matthew 11: 12, was about the kingdom of God advancing in the earth through believers, who are persistently preaching the gospel for the salvation of souls.

God is more than willing to supply all that man needs. Let us look at it in this way, God gave His Son, Jesus willingly. He did not give His Son because man requested and wrestled Jesus out of God’s hands. He is not withholding anything from anyone.

32  For God has proved his love by giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give. 

Romans 8: 32

God giving to man is not depended on man motivating God to do so. He is not giving now. He gave way before you and me asked or prayed. He does not act because man prayed, but He lives by His eternal blueprint – His Word.

7  When you pray, there is no need to repeat empty phrases, praying like those who don’t know God, for they expect God to hear them because of their many words.
8  There is no need to imitate them, since your Father already knows what you need before you ask him. 

Matthew 6: 7, 8

Jesus was talking to the people about prayer and how they should pray. It is not much mumbling that moves gives, but the understanding that God is our source and sustainer. He is our Abba Father. Prayer is not effort of squeezing answers from God, but the knowledge of all what the Lord has provided and thank Him for it. God has already provided all over and above by His grace. God’s provision can been seen in His ultimate provision of Jesus. He gave Himself, therefore there is nothing else to withhold. When asking, ask with this attitude – He has given me everything that I need for life and godliness in Christ Jesus.

3  Everything we could ever need for life and complete devotion to God has already been deposited in us by his divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing him who has called us by name and invited us to come to him through a glorious manifestation of his goodness.
