Love: The Fruitfulness Motivator

7  Even though we could have imposed upon you our demands as apostles of Christ, instead we showed you kindness and were gentle among you. We cared for you in the same way a nursing mother cares for her own children. 
8  With a mother’s love and affectionate attachment to you, we were very happy to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our lives—because you had become so dear to us.

1 Thessalonians 2: 7, 8

There is a saying that says, “People don’t care what you know until they know how much you care.” Great faith can be great but great love is the greatest. God is love. He does not have love. He is predominantly love. All what God does is motivated by love. He so loved the world that He gave His only Son, Jesus.

13  Until then, there are three things that remain: faith, hope, and love—yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run. 

1 Corinthians 13: 13

Jesus is our model. He ministered to the people not because He wanted to be seen by men. He ministered to the people because He was motivated by love. A ministry that is not motivated by love will turn into a cult. Whatever one does without love will be self centred. There so many people without compassion masquerading as men and women of God. It is not possible to serve God without love.  Such kind of people are only there to use people for their own bellies. The love of God, which is agape makes one to focus more on the needs of others than one’s needs. Jesus surrendered Himself to death because of His love for the people. He was selfless. It was His love that took Him to the cross to die for the sins He never committed. Just imagine if Jesus had thought of Himself first and decided to go back to heaven before His death. We were going to be eternally doomed in sin. God was not going to have an harvest of souls if Jesus never died.

5  And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us! 

Romans 5: 5

The love of God has been shade upon our hearts. The day Jesus came into your life, the love of God came along. Jesus is love. Therefore, we are not trying to get more love from God. He has already given us His love in totality. All you and I need is the realization of the nature of God in us. We have to be aware that we are children of God, and the love of God is in us. Then, we have to endeavor to live from inside out. We have to allow the love of God in us to motivate us for doing whatever we want to do. We do not have to be reactors, but love motivated beings.
