LOVE ONE ANOTHER

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. 1 Corinthians 12: 12 – 14

The body of Christ is an epitome of love. God the Father reflects reflects His love to the world through the church. For God so loved the world that He gave His Son to come and die for the sins of the world. But the Son did not come as a spirit, He had to occupy a body through which He demonstrated the love of God. Christ is the Head and the church is His body.

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: Hebrews 10: 5

God needs a body that He can occupy to demonstrate His love. Christ occupied a body when He was on earth, and after He had accomplished His mission, He built a built a body for Himself to occupy which is the church. The church is the house of Christ

But Christ as a son over His own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Hebrews 3: 6

Christ lives in His house, the church, and it’s expected to be the conduit of God’s love. One cannot be part of the church, and yet hate the brethren. Our differences should not be an excuse to hate one another. Jesus’ command is simple and straight forward, love one another. Not only when one is good and loving, but loving both the lovables and the unlovables. It is easier to love those that love you. But Jesus has commanded to love all people, regardless.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. John 15: 12

Love distinguishes the church from the rest. It makes the church to stand out. It is love that makes the church to be the light of the world. The world consists of thieves, witches, prostitutes, drunkards, murderers and everything in between. The call is to preach the gospel to them and not killing witches in our night vigil prayers. Love starts from within the church and then spills over into the world for the salvation of their souls. A hateful church will be a witch killing church.
