Life In Christ

Life In Christ

By Apostle Felix

21  And just as sin reigned through death, so also this sin-conquering grace will reign as king through righteousness, imparting eternal life through Jesus, our Lord and Messiah!

Romans 5: 21

In Adam all men sinned, but in Christ all men have been made righteous. Sin entered humanity through one man, Adam. Death has been the result of sin ridden humanity. Death mentioned in Genesis chapter two is a severance of a relationship between God and man. Adam and his wife did not die physically but they were separated from God. Death is a separation. Like divorce, it is a death of a relationship not necessarily the death of the individuals who were in that marriage. When a husband and a wife decide to separate and allow their relationship to die, it is called divorce. The two are alive and well, but the relationship is dead. Likewise, upon man sinning, he was separated from God, and death began to reign.

12  When Adam sinned, the entire world was affected. Sin entered human experience, and death was the result. And so death followed this sin, casting its shadow over all humanity, because all have sinned.

Romans 5: 12

Man lost the life of God, which is eternal life. He began to exist without eternal life. He was a dead man walking. This is the reason why Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to earth. He did not come to solve a temporarily problem of man, but a permanent problem of sin. There was no other solution to sin other than Jesus coming to die as the sacrificial lamb. The sin of Adam had to be punished for man to be pardoned. However, there was none worthy to die for another fellow man. Since there was none, God had to provide types and shadows that only gave a relief for a year. The blood of animals could not offer a permanent solution to the problem of sin.

4  For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5  Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6  In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Hebrews 10: 4 – 6

One man’s rebellion brought about condemnation and one man’s obedience brought about justification. God did not stop loving man because of sin. He loved man dearly but sin was standing in the way. There was a wall of hostility between man and God, which was sin. Jesus’ death and resurrection has great significance in the salvation of man. His death and resurrection dealt with sin once and for all.The wall of hostility that existed between man and God was destroyed in the body of Christ, and man was made to be in right standing with God.

16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

Romans 5: 16

Through His blood, you now have life in Him. So many folks try to find life apart from Christ. There is no life outside Christ. If you ever find life out side Christ, it is fake. You cannot find life in worldly things. You cannot find life in ancestral worship, You cannot find life even in supporting Israel over Iran. You cannot find life in serving in the church. You cannot find life in good behaviour. You cannot find life in any other thing or person. As long as you remain in Adam, you are in death. But the day, you decide to live in Christ by accepting Him and His atoning work, you will be in life.
