Jesus: Our Salvation

Jesus: Our Saviour

By Apostle Felix

Act 4:11  This Jesus is ‘the stone that you, the builders, have rejected, and now he has become the cornerstone!’
Act 4:12  There is no one else who has the power to save us, for there is only one name to whom God has given authority by which we must experience salvation: the name of Jesus.”

Acts 4: 11, 12

Salvation from sin can only be found in Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which man can be saved. Man has tried to convince himself that there are other ways through which man can be saved. If it was so, Jesus’ death on the cross would have been all in vain. If salvation can be found in any other person, then Jesus wasted His time dying for man on the cross. He would have just directed man to other personalities for salvation. But He did not do that, instead declared emphatically that He is the only Way to the Father.

6  Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too.

John 14: 6

Jesus did not make this statement as an option to other many ways out there. Jesus is the only Way to the Father because Jesus is God who became man and lived amongst us. God became one of  us, which is Emmanuel.

23  Listen! A virgin will be pregnant, she will give birth to a Son, and he will be known as “Emmanuel,” which means in Hebrew, “God became one of us.”

Matthew 1: 23

God becoming man is the greatest miracle among all miracles. It took God humbling Himself to the form of man, for the salvation of mankind. No one, among those who claim to be the ways, had the capacity to die for another fellow man. They were mere mortal men, who died as mortal men and never rose from the dead. But Jesus Christ, though He tasted death, death had no power over Him. Though He died, He rose from the dead and was seen by many as the risen Savior. He rose from the dead because God could not remain among the dead. Therefore, He is able to save those that believe in Him.

25  So he is able to save fully from now throughout eternity, everyone who comes to God through him, because he lives to pray continually for them.

Hebrews 7: 25

The power of salvation is not just in the name, but in the person who bears the name. The Person, who bore the name of Jesus is God, who became man and was called the Son of God. One does not become a savior by simply claiming the name or by amassing a record of supernatural manifestations. One need to come from above as God and be born as man. A savior is one who is able to become sin yet sinless. A savior is able to take the place of the condemned and bear the brunt of condemnation. A savior died our death, so that we can live His life. He died as you and me, so that we can live as Him. That’s a savior. If one claiming to be the savior cannot die for my sins and cannot rise from the dead, then does not qualify to be the savior. A savior should die for my sins and be able to rise from the dead.

3  For I have shared with you what I have received and what is of utmost importance: The Messiah died for our sins, fulfilling the prophecies of the Scriptures.
4  He was buried in a tomb and was raised from the dead after three days, as foretold in the Scriptures.
